The impossible is possible
One of the world's best stuntmen, a professional in his field was born in the UK, in the town of Derby, Derbyshire, in early April 1982. Watching the attempts of her five-year-old crumbs to perform a front somersault on the grass of the yard, Damien's mother leads the boy to the sports club Amber Valley Gymnastics, where he learns the basics of gymnastics. By the age of 10, Walters understands that he is more attracted to acrobatics, from that moment he begins to train hard to achieve high results in this sport. In addition to significant victories in sports, Damien Walters realized himself as a freerraner and tracer, and, having gained worldwide fame and popularity, attracted the attention of filmmakers.
Refuting the laws of physics
In 2014, all Runet users were hit by a new video with the participation of Damien Walters “Dead Loop”. The stuntman literally denied the physical laws and ran through a dead loop. According to the performer, this trick allowed him to perform rigorous mathematical calculations, since the athlete had to run at an exact speed of 14 km / h. The video was shot for the Pepsi Max advertising campaign.
Just two years later, in 2016, Damien Walters carried out a “leap of faith”. In the process of preparation, the stuntman jumped first from a height of a 6-story building, 21 meters, and then from a 38-meter height. This trick was performed as part of the filming of the movie "Assassin's Creed", which is an adaptation of the popular game Assassin's Creed.
Selected Filmography
Damien Walters made his film debut as a stuntman in 2008 in the Guillermo del Toro project “Hellboy 2: The Golden Army”. He was an understudy for Luke Goss, who played the role of the warlike prince Nuad, the film’s main antagonist. Walters says he became a stuntman only by a fluke. The main coordinator and stunt director from the Jackie Chan team, Brad Allen, while preparing for the filming of the Hellboy 2 tape, was looking for an acrobat, and his choice fell on Damien. And so began the filmography of the stuntman.
The most dangerous trick, according to Damien Walters himself, is to jump from the third floor to the truck, and then to the concrete floor in the tape "Ninja Killer." The fact is that the glass through which the acrobat was about to jump out was frosted, and he did not see where to land. He could only hope that he would orientate correctly.
In 47 Ronin, the stuntman dubbed the charismatic Keanu Reeves, while managing to star in Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows. In the last tape, Walters had to jump out of the third floor window again, but here he grabbed a metal pipe on the fly and remained suspended above the ground.
Among the significant films in which Damien worked as a stuntman, Kipman, The First Avenger, Kingsman: The Secret Service and 007: Skyfall Coordinates stand out.
