They โ€œroamโ€, causing a sharp pain in the abdomen, often go outside, producing an unpleasant odor. You still do not understand what flatulence is? This is a bloating that occurs for several reasons.

Bloating. Reasons and treatment

Inside our digestive system there is always a certain amount of liquid, solid (food) and gases. With a normal balance of these substances, gases should be no more than 2300 ml. Of course, it is impossible to take measurements at home, but know: if you donโ€™t notice (or hardly notice) how the gases escape during the day, then you donโ€™t have flatulence. Actually, what is flatulence? This is an imbalance that occurs in the intestines. Its causes may include:

  • Ingestion while eating. This usually happens either when a person eats eagerly and hastily, or when he is talking while eating.
  • The use of all types of soda, as well as products that provoke increased gas separation: raw cabbage, legumes, fresh milk, black bread. The substances contained in these products activate gas separation, so bloating or flatulence can occur.
  • Dysbacteriosis In some cases, an imbalance in the intestinal flora occurs. Useful microbes die, but bacteria and microorganisms multiply, causing rotting, fermentation and bloating. Temperature, nausea, stool disorder - these are the first symptoms of dysbiosis. Their appearance is an occasion to go to the doctor.
  • Violation of the digestion process caused by pancreatitis, colitis, enteritis or other disorders of the enzymes.
  • Irritable bowel syndrome also causes flatulence, which may be accompanied by pain, constipation or diarrhea.
  • Side effects of drugs, especially antibiotics.

What is flatulence? This is a disease that is treated with medications in combination with a strict diet. The doctor usually first prescribes a series of studies of the intestinal flora, and then prescribes drug therapy. Typically, enzymes, drugs that correct the activity of the pancreas or normalize the intestinal handicap are recommended. Flatulence, if left untreated, can eventually lead to a complete digestive upset. In addition, flatulence can attract unhealthy attention: gases and rumbling can be heard by others. That is why consultation with a specialist is so important.
