Cinema about the Second World War: “Dawns are quiet here”
Who does not know this touching story about five volunteer girls who tried to cope with sixteen well-trained German intelligence officers? At least in Soviet times, the plot of the film “The Dawns Are Quiet Here” was known to everyone by heart.
Not far from one of the Karelian railway crossings, close to the location of Soviet troops, German saboteurs appear. The railway junction is guarded by foreman Fedot Vaskov and his detachment of female volunteers.
Vaskov takes the five best of his subordinates and advances towards saboteurs. But it turns out that the Germans are not two, but sixteen. The girl, sent for help, dies by an absurd accident in the swamp. And the rest are killed by a number of superior opponents. Fedot Vaskov is losing his wards, who, by and large, still have to live and live. However, the victim was not in vain: diversion still manages to be prevented.
So usually a good movie about WWII ends: it gives at least a drop of hope for a better future and makes us appreciate what we now have.
“Only old people go into battle”
Cinema about the Second World War, which was included in the golden collection of Soviet cinema, is the drama “Only Old Men Go to Battle,” directed by Leonid Bykov.
This time, the action is transferred somewhere to the Ukrainian border. Just there are fights for the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR. “Twenty days without war”
The talented writer Konstantin Simonov once created a touching script, the hero of which was an ordinary war journalist Major Vasily Lopatin. In 1975, the director Alexei German took up the implementation of this scenario in cinema .
