Why does the smell of sweat appear?

In the summer, it is sometimes simply impossible to be in public transport. And the point is often not at all in the heat and in the stuffiness, although these factors do not add to the pleasure of riding in crowded buses. But when unpleasant odors are also added to crowding, it becomes generally unbearable!

Representatives of the so-called southern peoples emit a particularly strong smell of sweat. But the point here is not at all that they are something very different from the Slavs. Just the traditional cuisine of southerners contains a large number of hot seasonings. The body does not cope with their processing, and the smell of sweat, β€œdiluted” with onion or garlic β€œflavor”, becomes completely unbearable.

But an unpleasant odor is not at all the prerogative of lovers of spicy dishes, often the same β€œaroma” affects the sweet tooth. The fact is that in fact, fresh sweat does not have any smell, if the person is absolutely healthy. But accumulating on the skin, it is an excellent breeding ground for bacteria. They joyfully throw themselves on the received treats, and as a result an irritating and unpleasant smell of sweat appears. This is uncomfortable.

But often a particularly strong smell appears in cases where a person is sick. In this case, you should consult a doctor.

If you carefully follow hygiene requirements, but the smell of sweat still haunts you, and even deodorants do not help get rid of it, it will not hurt to undergo a medical examination. It may turn out that your kidney is out of order, or a hormonal failure has occurred in the body.

To combat the unpleasant smell of sweat, mankind has discovered many ways over the millennia of its existence. All of them can be divided into two categories - antiperspirants and deodorants. Thanks to the efforts of advertising, which is zealously promoting a galaxy of antiperspirant deodorants, a large part of the population simply does not separate them from each other in their minds. In fact, these two tools have completely different actions and tasks.

Antiperspirants are designed to generally eliminate the cause of an unpleasant odor, that is, to reduce perspiration, and deodorants simply mask the smell. Based on these features, you need to use them correctly.

So, applying an antiperspirant to already sweated skin is completely useless. Once the sweat has already managed to stand out, after a while it will start to smell. You need to use an antiperspirant immediately after you take a shower and dry your skin under your armpits. But you will not be able to completely block sweating, and you do not need to do this, even with the goal of removing an unpleasant odor. It was not for nothing that nature supplied the human body with a couple of millions of sweat glands. Together with secretions, not only moisture leaves our body, but also an excess of salts and other wastes. If human skin ceases to produce sweat, then you and I will simply boil alive, since it is sweat that is the body's natural thermoregulator. Evaporating from the surface of the skin, it cools the entire body. Remember the school physics course, and you yourself will understand the mechanism of the process.

Deodorants can be applied to the skin throughout the day. In order for the effect to last longer, and the smell of sweat was guaranteed to be eliminated, it is recommended to use ball deodorants rather than sprays, since their fragrances have a more persistent effect.
