Martin was born in 1985 in the family of one of the most popular contemporary writers in Spain. In 2006, he joined the cast of the youth series Dreaming Without Fear, in which other Spanish actors took their first steps: Mario Casas (“Three Meters Above Sky”), Guillermo Barrientos (“Grand Hotel”), Raul Pena (“Secrets” Laura ”), Yon Gonzalez (“ Under Suspicion ”). He will maintain friendship with many of them and will meet more than once on the same set, as, for example, with Gonzalez, with whom he will later star in the mystical project “Black Lagoon”. It was this series that brought Rivas to the category of promising stars.
“Lagoon ...” lasted for seven seasons, which was a good indicator for Spanish television. According to Martin, he considers this role to be the first serious experience, because the shooting took place every day. According to the actor’s recollections, sometimes they were just exhausting: they had to do several takes, and individual scenes were copied by the scriptwriters on the go.
In 2008, the drama “Blind Sunflowers” appeared on the screens. The plot develops in a period of difficult changes for the country. Around - glimpses of the civil war, the main character is forced to hide from the police and watch his other man look after his wife, a pregnant daughter runs across the border with her lover ... Martin Rivas gets a secondary image, but his game, like the picture itself, receives warm reviews critics and film festival awards. In 2012, the actor was offered the main role in the fantasy series “The Gift of Alba”. It is followed by two feature films: the comedy “Three More Weddings” and “People on Sites”.
Love is everywhere
There were many rumors about the actor’s personal life. On the set of Black Lagoon, he met actress Anna de Armas. By the way, the girl remains one of the sought-after young stars. Behind her is participation in more than 20 projects, including several joint paintings with Rivas, and in 2015 she can be seen in the thriller “Who's There” with Keanu Reeves. For a long time, the couple did not admit to the novel, but often appeared at social events.
