Adam Sandler, an American actor and producer, was born on September 9, 1966 in the New York area of Brooklyn. Adam's father is Stanley Sandler, mother is Judy Sandler. In 1971, the family moved to the
city of Manchester, New Hampshire. Adam received his
primary education in one of the schools in Manchester, and then left for New York and entered the university, which he graduated with honors, receiving the title of Bachelor, in 1991. During his college years, Adam Sandler discovered the ability of a comic artist. He began to develop his talent in every possible way, playing skits in clubs and campuses, inventing a script in the style of stand-up on the go. It is characteristic that the future comedian, the Hollywood star, did not seek to unite with other amateur actors of the university, he tried to perform individually. However, this was not considered a manifestation of selfishness; Adam was a friendly and open person. But he wanted to create his own unique image.
Film debut
In 1989, as a student, Adam Sandler made his film debut, immediately playing the main role in the film "All Overboard" directed by Valerie Breiman. The first film with Adam Sandler received favorable reviews. His character is an ambitious comedian artist Shecky Moskowitz, about whose adventures the film tells. The action takes place on an ocean cruise ship designed for the Miss Universe contest. American comedian Dennis Miller, impressed by Sandler's sparkling humor, invites him to move to Los Angeles and take part in several Hollywood projects. Adam Sandler's artistic career began to gain momentum.
Comedy Films
1994 was the year when Adam Sandler put comedy films with his participation above all else. This was, so to speak, the pinnacle of his personal work. He took part in the filming of the musical comedy directed by Michael Lehmann "Netherheads", in which he played Pip, a rock musician who dreams of moving forward in the field of rock and roll. The other two characters, Cesa and Rex, were played by actors Brendan Fraser and Steve Buscemi. In the next film, a science fiction comedy called Eggheads, Sandler played Carmine's character. This was a secondary role, but the actor tried to take part in all projects that somehow contributed to his promotion. Adam played the main role already in 1995 in the film "Billy Madison", directed by Tamra Davis, according to the script of Tim Herlichi. Films with the actor (Adam Sandler at that time was already quite famous) began to gain more and more popularity.
Then the filmography of Adam was replenished with three more paintings:
- the comedy "Lucky Gilmore", directed by Dennis Dugan, in which the actor played a major role;
- a comedy thriller called "Bulletproof" directed by Ernest Dickerson (the role of Archie Moses);
- the film with Adam Sandler, "Singer at the Wedding," directed by Frank Korachi (starring Robbie Hart).
The last picture gathered the most flattering reviews. The first two films were shot at Universal Picturies, and the third in the New Line Cinema pavilions.
First prizes
The early films with Adam Sandler, the list of which consists of only six titles, were not sensational, since the comedic genre was perceived by the American audience quite calmly, but critics unanimously noted Sandler's play as a life-affirming art. A special place in the actor’s work was taken by the film melodrama "Love Knocking Down" directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, filmed in 2002. Adam played Barry Egan, suffering from deep psychological problems, including sexual ones. Barry's childhood passed in the company of his seven sisters, the constant female environment made young Egan self-doubt, subject to various complexes. Fortunately, he finally managed to meet his love. The film brought Adam Sandler two prestigious awards: Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy Actor and MTV Movie Awards for Best Kiss. Adam Sandler, whose best films were shot in the subsequent period, tried to play not only comedic roles.
Animation film
In the same 2002, two more films were released with the participation of Adam Sandler: "Involuntarily Millionaire" directed by Stephen Brill, in which Sandler played a major role. His character is a cook in a pizzeria named Longfellow Didz, who inherited his uncle's multi-million dollar fortune. And “Eight Crazy Nights” is an animated film with Adam Sandler, in which the main character appears in the guise of an actor and speaks in his voice. The voice acting was also attended by Adam's wife, Jackie Sandler.
Double nomination
The whole of 2009 is passing for Alam Sandler under the sign of the tragicomedy "Pranksters" directed by Judd Apatow. The work required a new approach, and the actor managed to cope with the task. For this picture, Sandler received a double nomination for the Teen Choice Award. And the next film with Adam Sandler, which was released next year, allowed the actor to meet with his old friends and partners in the shooting, Kevin James, Rob Schneider,
David Spade and others. The film was called "Classmates" and talked about a
meeting of classmates thirty years after graduation.
In 2011, Sandler starred in the comedy film “Pretend My Wife” by Dennis Dugan. Adam played a kind of sly Danny Maccobi, who rubbed the glasses to his friends girls, in order to achieve their location. Sandler's partner on the set was the famous movie star Jennifer Aniston. Films with Adam Sandler, the list of which is quite long, are mostly light comedies, but sometimes what happens on the screen makes you think.
Personal life
The personal life of Adam Sandler could be the plot for the bestseller "How to find family happiness with his beloved wife." The actor married in 2003 Jackie Titone, his longtime partner in numerous film projects.
The newlyweds arranged a wedding on the ocean coast, right under the open sky. Among the invited guests were many Hollywood stars, friends of Adam and Jackie. In May 2006, the daughter of Sadie Madison appeared in the Sandler family, and after two and a half years, a second daughter, Sunny Madeline, was born.
