Yawning is a very interesting, still unexplored state (or skill) of a person. Yawning passes from one individual to all those around him (remember, it is worth yawning sweetly to one, as the others unwittingly follow his example). They do this at a boring lecture or while reading a tedious book when they wake up or want to sleep. And for a number of reasons. Why is a man yawning? Scientists have not found a clear answer so far.
Why do people yawn in the morning?
Some scientists believe that morning yawning is closely related to sipping and allows the body to wake up. This is a very long and deep breath that delivers a gigantic portion of oxygen into the body. It is thrown into the body, activating the activity of muscles, toning all organs. The action of oxygen along with sipping accelerates blood circulation, stimulates the brain, makes a person active.
Why do people yawn under stress?
Paradoxically, the portion of oxygen obtained by yawning can not only activate, but also relax the body. Moreover, this happens reflexively, on a subconscious level. It has been established that many actors and athletes do this before competitions or performances, and schoolchildren and students do it before control and tests. Yawning invigorates the body, tunes it to a working wave,
while stimulating the production of anti-stress substances.
Why do people yawn from boredom?
It is believed that when a person does this out of boredom, the body tries to activate with the help of an additional portion of oxygen. All attentive people have noticed more than once that yawning is quickly transmitted: it is worth it to someone alone, as the others involuntarily support him. But it has been proven that collective yawning does not apply to children under 6 years old. Unfortunately, scientists have not yet found an explanation for any phenomenon. They only know that yawning can relieve mental stress.
Why are people yawning? Other versions
It has been reliably established that during yawning, pressure in the middle ear normalizes. That is why passengers are advised to do this when their ears are laid at the time of climb. Scientists also found out that during this process, the maxillary sinuses and Eustachian tubes connecting the ear and throat are “blown”. It turns out that yawning is good for the ears and nose.
When a person is passive and calm, his breathing slows down,
and the brain receives significantly smaller portions of oxygen. At the moment of yawning, the muscles tighten and “adjust” the flow of oxygen. Blood circulation increases, the brain eats better. The body becomes active and ready even for physical, at least for mental activity. Along the way, yawning normalizes the temperature of the brain, does not allow it to overheat.
Parapsychologists and traditional healers believe that people yawn when they are jinxed. The forces leave such a person; he lacks neither air nor activity. It feels like a fish on land. This is another version of why a person yawns often.
One interesting fact
It has been reliably established that for the first time, babies begin to yawn while still in the mother’s womb.
