The basis of comfortable living in any village is an uninterrupted supply of electricity. This ensures the illumination of squares and streets, houses, courtyards, heating of residential, industrial and public buildings, the work of urban industrial and domestic enterprises.
In order to generate electricity and heat, thermal power plants are often set up near large cities or directly within their boundaries. Such stations are usually not too large, but are characterized by high performance. One of the facilities providing electrification of the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, is, for example, TPP-2.
Object History
The construction of KTETs-2 began in the last century - in 1932. The Soviet builders completed the first phase of the station in 1937. About a year later, the first boiler and a turbogenerator were commissioned at Kazan TETs-2. In subsequent years, the capacity of this facility in the energy sector gradually increased. By 1957, this indicator at the station reached 175 MW. In the 70s of the last century, it was already raised to 360 MW.
After the collapse of the USSR, energy consumption in Kazan decreased. Accordingly, the station’s capacities decreased to 190 MW.
The development of CHPP-2 for many years was determined by the requirements in the supply of electricity to the Kazanorgsintez plant and some other local chemical enterprises. Also, electricity and heat from this station was used and is now used for the development of housing and industrial construction in Kazan and the region.
In 1978, the installation of hot water boilers began at the station. Also then, at the CHPP-2, fuel oil facilities were also organized for their maintenance. The first peak boiler was put into operation at the station in 1980. The second such unit began to work another year later. Also in 1981, at the CHPP-2, the fourth dam was completed, the height of which was 180 m. The commissioning of this unit in those years allowed to significantly improve the environmental situation in the areas adjacent to the facility.
In 2005, Kazan TPP-2 began servicing, among other things, the Savinovo boiler house. This facility was built to provide heat for residential, public and industrial buildings in the Novo-Savinovsky district of the capital of Tatarstan.
Reconstruction
As you know, the energy sector of Russia has been developing quite actively in recent years. This is due primarily to the growing needs of enterprises in electricity. Many thermal power plants in the country are being reconstructed, modernized and expanded. This process, of course, also affected KTETs-2.
The decision to upgrade the station designs was taken by Generation Company OJSC in 2010 as part of the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program. Taking into account the growth prospects of the loads, the priority was chosen to increase generating capacities. At the station, then they decided to build a combined cycle gas turbine unit at 220 MW. Ultimately, this was supposed to lead to an increase in the production of thermal and electric energy by the object.
A combined-cycle plant was built at the CHPP for approximately 4 years. The official launch ceremony for the new 220 MW CCGT unit took place at TPP-2 in the summer of 2014. After that, the station's capacities increased from 190 MW to as much as 410 MW. Also, during the reconstruction period at this facility of energy, the open switchgear of 110 kV outdoor switchgear was expanded to 5 cells with electric-gas switches. This has increased the reliability of energy distribution among consumers. After all these innovations, the station has become much more efficient.
Characteristics
After the reconstruction, the capacity of Kazan TPP-2 for 2019, thus, is 410 MW. The thermal power of the station is equal to 869.4 Gcal / h. Such indicators make it possible to provide heat and electricity to many objects of the capital of Tatarstan.
Kazan CHPP-2 can operate on fuel oil, natural gas, coal. In this regard, the station is an almost universal facility.
Equipment
CCPP TPP includes the following units:
two imported gas turbines with a capacity of 77 MW each (manufacturer - General Electric);
two domestic turbines KT-36 / 33-7.5 / 0.12 with a capacity of 33 MW (manufacturer - Kaluga Turbine Plant);
waste heat boilers E-114 / 16-8.1 / 0.7-535 / 218-3.8VV (manufacturer of EMAlliance OJSC).
Today, the Savinovo boiler house is one of the main consumer objects of Kazan TPP-2. The equipment in this household unit has the following installed:
Consumers
Today, KTETs-2 provides a huge number of household facilities in Kazan and industrial enterprises of this city with electricity and heat. The main consumers of the station at the moment are:
CAPO;
KMPO;
ELEKON factory;
KVPO;
silicate plant in Kazan;
Fuel and energy resources;
LLC "Orgsintez";
Kazan "Heating networks";
"Electricity of the net";
KNPP "Helicopter Mi";
Rosmoloko;
"Hydro installation".
Where is
This station was built in the 30s of the last century beyond the territory of the city of Kazan in a northerly direction. However, over time, the capital of Tatarstan has grown greatly. Therefore, at the moment, CHP-2 is located directly within it.
This object is located in the aircraft building district of the city. The address of Kazan TPP-2 looks like this: st. Tetsovskaya, d.11 / b. The station's zip code is: 420036. Among other things, this industrial facility has its own official website on the Internet. On this site you can find the contacts of the station management and its mailing address.
You can also get to CHPP-2 by bus. However, public transport to this industrial area runs, judging by the reviews available on the Web, quite rarely. Therefore, those who need to visit this station for any reason should go here by private car or, for example, by taxi.
Who owns
At the moment, as already mentioned, CHPP-2 of Kazan is the property of JSC "Tatenergo". This is a fairly large company in Tatarstan, which owns a large number of various kinds of energy facilities. The headquarters of Tatenergo is located directly in Kazan.
This company was founded in 1999. However, the company has been leading its history since the beginning of the design and construction of TPP-2 - since 1931. In essence, Tatenergo is the successor to the state power station TASSR Tatenergo. The structure of this society for 2019 includes:
generating company;
networked.
JSC "Tatenergo" carries out its activities only in the territory of Tatarstan. In addition to KTETs-2, this company owns thermal stations:
Yelabuga Thermal Power Plant.
Naberezhnye Chelny TPP.
Kazan Thermal Power Station-1.
Zainsky state district power station.
JSC "Tatenergo" also owns the hydroelectric power station of Nizhnekamsk and some other rather large facilities.
Station Guide
At the beginning of 2019, the general director of CHPP-2 in Kazan is Galliulin Radik Zavitovich. The chief engineer of the station at the moment is Girfanov Artem Albertovich. The General Director of JSC "Tatenergo" is at the same time Haziev Rauzil Magsumyanovich. His first deputy is Sabirzanov Airat Yarulovich.
At the moment, the company continues to actively grow and develop. In 2018, Kazan TPP-2, which it owns, took one of the prizes at the 19th Spartakiad of the Electro-Trade Union of RT VEP. This has become one of the important indicators of the active development of the facility.
In the spring of 2018, Kazan TPP-2, among other things, was visited by Kazan President R. Minninhanov. Rustam Nurgalievich greeted the station staff and thanked its employees on their behalf and on behalf of the Ministry of Energy of Russia for the large amount of work performed, including during the reconstruction process. Of course, the president of Tatarstan during his visit tried to solve some problems of the thermal power station, its workers and even the city of Kazan itself (in terms of social services for the population).
Station staff
Today, more than 500 people work at Kazan TPP-2. Of course, only the most responsible experienced specialists are hired to work at this station. Also, the best graduates of Kazan universities of the corresponding specialization often receive a referral to this CHPP. The station management in every possible way supports not only labor discipline in the workplace, but also invention and innovation. At the station, new technologies and developments are currently actively used.
Among other things, Kazan TPP-2 is today one of the most sports branches of Tatenergo. The tradition at this station was the holding of annual integrated sports competitions of 11 sports. The station staff takes an active part in various events organized by local trade union committees. In addition, at CHPP-2, an annual celebration of the elderly’s day has become a good tradition. At such events, often honored including the old honored workers of the station. Quite often, various kinds of mornings and holidays are organized at the enterprise for workers' children.
Accident 2016
What Kazan CHP-2 has the main characteristics, we, therefore, found out. The station is, as you might have noticed, quite powerful. For the city of Kazan, this energy facility is in any case one of the most important.
At the moment, KTETs-2 works quite stably and regularly supplies electricity and heat to consumers in the city and the region. But of course, sometimes at this station, like at any other, some problems arise. For example, in May 2016, a rather serious accident occurred here. Station workers were not injured at that moment. The generator simply stopped at the CHPP, which made it impossible to generate electricity and heat. However, the losses of "Tatenergo" due to the accident suffered significant. This was the reason for the company to go to court in order to recover damages from the developer who carried out the reconstruction and installed the generator. The trial that year in Kazan turned out to be serious and caused a lot of noise in the press.
Developer lawsuit
In the fall of 2016, the developer KER-Holding UK, who won the tender for the reconstruction of the station in 2012 and considered himself the injured party, began a lawsuit with Kaluga Turbine Works JSC. According to the administration of this company, the cause of the accident was not at all the negligence of its employees, but the usual factory marriage. After the accident, the generator was inspected and specialists found out that this equipment has a rotor defect. The conductor bolt in this unit was not fully tightened. Since the rotor at Kazan TPP-2 during its reconstruction was delivered complete, the developer was responsible for this defect and considered JSC Kaluga Turbine Plant.
The lawsuit “UK“ KER-Holding ”was filed to the extent that this company itself was forced to pay a large amount to TPP-2 and OAO Tatenergo for damages. Damage to the station during the 2016 accident was inflicted in the amount of 114 million rubles.
