Cancer bait - fish or garlic?

Crayfish are hermits in their lifestyle. In daylight, this arthropod hides in a shelter, with the slightest danger, quickly backing deeper into the hole. Crawfish go out in search of food at dusk, and in cloudy afternoon - in the afternoon.

Usually they move in the water at night, pulling the claws forward and holding the tail straight, but if you frighten them away, they quickly sail back, helping themselves with strong blows from the tail. It is believed that the crayfish stay in one place, but this is not so: in a week they overcome several hundred meters.

I have tried unique crayfish to my taste for beer at least once in my life. Their catch is gambling, prey and affordable even for children. This type of fishing does not require special gear or equipment. The only thing needed is a few traps and a lure for crayfish. These arthropods live in clean rivers and canals, sometimes in lakes. During the day, they are mainly found in their burrows, dug under shady steep banks, under stones or snags, and at night they move along the bottom, looking for prey. In winter, they go deep.

In our country, catching with the help of rakolovka is very widespread, especially since the Russian rules do not limit such fishing.

The advantages of this type of fishing are the compactness of the trap, the simplicity of its carrying, the ease of installation and inspection. Rakolovki do not require frequent verification. Another advantage of this tackle is its low price.

You can get a pretty good catch, knowing exactly which bait to catch. Crayfish are attracted by fresh fish, mollusks and similar animals, characteristic of this reservoir, oilcake. This arthropod eats fish such as bream, roach, silver bream, and is reluctant to take perch or pike.

An interesting lure for crayfish is garlic. Experienced crayfish for this purpose use a loaf of bread, preferably black, passing it along with garlic through a meat grinder. Then, balls are rolled from the resulting mass, put them in gauze and charged with trap bags. One such serving, as well as one fish, is enough for the whole night.

What bait to catch crayfish

In addition to fishing with the help of ravens, these arthropods are caught in the same way as fish - for fishing rod. At the same time, unlike โ€œsilent huntingโ€ for a hook, this method is not so reliable: the cancer can break at any moment. And the gears are somewhat different: they are sticks one and a half or two meters long with fishing lines attached to them. The pointed ends stick into the bottom of the pond, and the bait for crayfish is placed next to it.

Fishing rods are installed at a distance of at least five meters from each other. You need to check them every three to four hours. They are carefully lifted from the bottom and already almost on the surface they catch crayfish on the net. Prey is stored in cages before consumption, and transported without water in a spacious box.

Crayfish

The most primitive and oldest method is catching crayfish with bare hands, and in this case no bait for crayfish is needed. Of course, this method is not suitable for those who do not know how to swim or are afraid to get hurt.

But anyone who really wants to drink beer with crayfish, but does not have any tackle at hand, can illuminate the bottom of the reservoir with a torch or a flashlight to get a pretty good catch.

In the old days there was a good bait for catching crayfish: a fire was built on the shore, and arthropods crawled to the shore in the dark. It is said that in this case, up to several hundred can be caught on a rocky shore.
