"The Taming of the Shrew"
Italian comedies are light and witty, they are watched all over the world. One of these films is The Taming of the Shrew, the plot of which tells of an inveterate bachelor, who nevertheless succumbed to the spell of a pretty young woman, as a result of which he finally parted with his loneliness.
The character of Adriano Celentano is a forty-year-old farmer with a difficult character who has never been married, as in his understanding family life is a burden. However, many disagree with him: the town’s population, its employees, a black-skinned housekeeper and even a beloved dog.
One evening, during a thunderstorm, a pretty lady knocked on the door, passing by, but her car engine was stalled. The poor thing got wet, and in the hope of finding shelter she knocked on the first door that came across. Elijah (that was the name of the farmer, and this was his house) opened. Before him stood a beautiful woman, wet to the skin.
A bachelor, loyal to his character, did not even think of hospitality. He was about to close the door to the stranger, but she showed character and entered. Then events began to develop in a somewhat unexpected way.
Signor Robinson
Italian comedies are that particular genre in which reality is often intertwined with science fiction. But, since this happens quite organically, the impression of the integrity of the plot is created. In addition, Italian comedies are characterized by easy and kind humor, which is why they are so popular. An example of such a film is Signor Robinson with Paolo Villagio in the lead role directed by Sergio Cobrucci.
How did it go
A successful entrepreneur with his wayward spoiled wife goes on a cruise trip. The ocean liner crashes, as a result of which Roby, the hero’s name, is on a desert island. From time to time, waves bring various chests from a sunken ship, and the new Robinson manages to somehow establish his life.
Exactly the same as it happens in the classic script of Daniel Defoe, Friday appears on the island. However, this time it is a beautiful savage who sailed from a nearby island. Roby has a difficult relationship with her, during which he tries to turn the girl into a close friend. In her own way, she pities the unlucky Robi, but there is too much difference between them, besides, faith in the god of the island, the almighty Magda, prevents convergence.
Roby suffers from nostalgia, he lacks the old way of life, civilization, big cities, smog and disasters described in the newspapers. After long months of living on the island, he receives deliverance thanks to his wife Magda, who organized an entire expedition to find a spouse.
