Today we suggest you talk about a technique called Eidetica. Exercises for the development of different types of perception will be discussed in this article.
We all live in the information society. Each of the inhabitants of the planet daily plunges into an incredibly large flow of information. Where does it come from? From televisions, newspapers, the Internet, books, posters and so on. This problem is actually great, even in psychology recently introduced the concepts of "information stress" and "information overload." It is important to remember that all incoming information is not necessary to assimilate. The task of each person is to learn how to quickly analyze it, while assimilating the right one. This skill is necessary not only for adults, but also for children in the first place.
Now even school curricula have changed a lot. Modern children need to learn much more information than schoolchildren thirty years ago. That is why the level of cognitive and creative abilities should be on top.
A specially developed eidetic technique will help. Exercises are for a variety of groups: toddlers, preschool age, schoolchildren and students. All of them are aimed at the development of thinking, speech, memory and imagination.
A bit of history
The term “eidetica" was introduced by the Serbian scientist Viktor Urbanchich back in 1907. Further development of this technique took place only in the twenties of the twentieth century thanks to the research of the German scientist Eric Jensch.
As for the Russian practice, quite popular scientists-psychologists dealt with this issue:
- Pavel Blonsky.
- Leo Vygotsky.
- Alexander Luria.
However, due to some controversy, all studies conducted were frozen until almost the twenty-first century. Interest returned only in the nineties of the twentieth century. It was at this time that the first eidetic school was opened. Exercises were designed for all categories of people: from the smallest to adults. It was founded in 1989 by Igor Matyugin. Here people were trained:
- competent work with information;
- memorizing a large amount of text using a specially developed technique;
- memory development;
- the development of imaginative thinking;
- the development of imagination.
Methods
Today we offer to talk about the most effective tools of the Eidetika technique. It is advisable to perform exercises not only with teachers, but also with parents during daily games. Please note that based on the presented examples, you can come up with many interesting games.
The first method is visual drawing. Suppose you are getting ready for school and learning numbers. This is quite difficult for a child; try turning them into an object. For example: six is a castle, eight is glasses and so on. Do the same with the letters.
The second method is mental drawing. It is suitable for memorizing poems. Suppose you are learning an excerpt from the poem Ruslan and Lyudmila. Before you memorize it, try to immerse the child in this atmosphere. Let him smell the sea, present the cries of gulls, and on the shore - a large perennial oak and so on.
The third method is storing accurate information. This technique includes:
- mnemonics (remembering complex information by changing the look, example: "every hunter wants to know where the pheasant sits");
- chain method (building an associative series, so the information will be reproduced accurately and sequentially);
- acroverbal technique (converting information into poetic or song form).
Such eidetic exercises will help the child remember a large amount of information without boring cramming, but during an exciting game.
Exercises for children
The following sections provide examples of eidetic exercises for children. Please note that you need to start practicing at least three years of age. No need to force a child through strength, if he has a good mood, then study will not remind hard labor, but an exciting game. Based on the above exercises, you can invent your own games.
The kid himself should be interested in everything new, often offer him such activities. Just do not force, a good mood is the key to an excellent result.
Cards
Here are two eidetic exercises for preschool children that require some parent training.
- "Compose your own tales." Parents will need several cards (absolutely any number from three to ten) with the image of different objects. Give them to your child and suggest coming up with such a fairy tale so that absolutely all the things from the pictures meet there. For older children, you can complicate the task: give a specific topic. For example: New Year, vacation at sea, a trip to my grandmother in the village and so on.
- The thief. Cards are also needed for this game, it is better to start with three or four and gradually increase their number. Lay out the images on the table and carefully examine them with the child. Ask the baby to turn away and take one picture from the table. Then he will have to work hard and understand what kind of drawing is still not there.
Development of visual perception
Here are some eidetic exercises for students to develop visual perception. They can and should be performed with children of an earlier age.
- "Researchers." Try to examine in detail any subject with your child. Surely you know from films and cartoons how researchers work. They talk as much as possible about the characteristics of the studied object. Take a plate or cup and examine it. Name: shape, color, labels, patterns, damage, and so on.
- "Detectives." Even adults like to play this game. Make a jumble of an object that is in your field of vision. The task of the child is to guess what you guessed by asking leading questions. To make it clearer, first swap places with the crumbs. Let him wonder, and you try to find out what exactly.
Auditory perception
The first interesting game is called Musical Instruments. Take a deep box and children's musical instruments. First play with them with the child, then hide in a box. Without taking an object out of the box, make a sound with some instrument. The child must guess what this object is.
The second game is called "Teremok". Again, you need a big box and toys or cards with the image of different animals. Hide all the things in the box and ask the baby: "who lives in the tent"? In this case, you need to give a hint: “mu-mu”, “meow-meow”, “kva-kva” and so on.
Discern odors
You will need small boxes and fragrant products. For example: spices, coffee. Put them in boxes and ask the child to tell what lies there. You can complicate the task: make two of the boxes with the same smell among all the boxes and ask the child to find a pair.
Another task is to tell what smells in the house. If it will be difficult for the child to do this, then do not scold, but help. Tell him that garlic smells sharply and pungently, and lemon has an invigorating and refreshing aroma and so on.
Developing memory
In addition to everything that was said earlier, there are eidetic exercises for students. They are also aimed at developing memory through imaginative thinking. And now there are several exercises for developing memory in preschool children, because at this stage it is necessary to begin to improve mental processes.
- "Remembering words." Suggest a few words to the baby in a certain order and suggest writing a short story. Please note that the words must be in the same sequence as you asked. Unleash your flight of fantasy, this story can be fantastic.
- "Dancing". Another interesting exercise. All children, without exception, love dancing and movement. They will be happy to learn new movements and connections with you. For the child to better remember the sequence, bring associations.
