The melodrama “Good Year” (actors who starred in the following roles: Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard) was shot in 2006 by director Ridley Scott based on the novel by the famous British writer Peter Mail.
Plot
The film “Good Year”, the actors and roles of which are selected very harmoniously, tells the story of an adventure with Max Skinner (Russell Crowe) - a shark from the London exchanges who did not disdain dishonest methods for profit. He is not only an unprincipled businessman, but also a callous person. Even his subordinates working for him, he scornfully calls "laboratory rats." However, he was not always such a "greedy bastard." As a child, Max was happy to be in the vineyard of his uncle Henry (Albert Finney). And after his sudden death, Skinner went straight to France with the desire to quickly inherit and sell the vineyard.
However, events are developing far from what a businessman with a hardened soul expected. The main character meets his first love - the beautiful Fanny Chenal (Marion Cotillard), who almost knocks down his car. In addition, there is another contender for the uncle's inheritance - the illegitimate daughter of Henry, who came from America, Christie Roberts (Abby Cornish). This is the synopsis of the film “Good Year”. Actors appreciated the creator's idea, the atmosphere on the site was friendly, which contributed to the high-quality implementation of the idea on the screen.
Actors: Crowe
The film “Good Year” is decorated with actors who have composed at least an interesting duet - the courageous Russell Crowe and the charming Marion Cotillard. Together with their heroes, the viewer learns the story, revealing a lot of new in the characteristics of the characters. An American actor of New Zealand descent, an Oscar winner, gained world fame thanks to his roles in the following films: His Man, Mind Games, Gladiator, Train to Yuma, Knockdown, Les Miserables, and Good Year ". Actors have repeatedly admired Russell’s powerful dramatic talent, which is not surprising - he starred in more than 50 films. His character is controversial, volatile, but generally positive.
Magic Cotillard
The harmonious duet with Crow was composed by the magical and amazingly beautiful Frenchwoman Marion Cotillard, also awarded the Oscar. The role of the actress in the comedy thriller “Taxi” is considered to be the most conceived. After the release of this film, Marion not only finally established her position on the Olympus of French cinema, but also began to receive advantageous offers from the world’s cinema bigwigs one after another, including in 2006 and from the producers of the melodrama Good Year. Leading actors are loved and respected by millions of viewers across the globe. They played expertly, looked very harmonious.
Supporting Actors
The illegitimate daughter of Henry Skinner from the US state of California was played by the Australian actress Abby Cornish, known for the films “Bright Star”, “Forbidden Reception”, “Robocop”, “Areas of Darkness”. She brilliantly managed to embody the role of a typical American on the screen, to strengthen the contrast between the stiff, successful English Max, the French romantic Fanny and her heroine Christie. In general, the film "Good Year", the actors and roles of which are presented in this publication, is all based on contrasts, which is its main feature.
Young Freddie Highmore played the sweet and touching Maxim as a child. The actor’s breakthrough into the world cinema scene took place in 2004 after playing the role of Peter Davis in “Fairyland”. Freddy has been awarded several awards and nominations. And after participating in the film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Highmore declared himself as a promising young actor.
Albert Finney (who played the role of Henry Skinner), Tom Hollander (who played Max's buddy, Charlie Willis) worked well, revealing the characters of their characters.
Unpretentious
This sweet, beautifully filmed story did not cause cynical attacks and criticisms against it. To find fault with the exciting melodrama about finding the true meaning of life and returning to the roots is almost impossible. The narrative contains truly touching and funny moments in which there are unobtrusive references to classic paintings, such as “Vacations of Mr. Hulot” and “My Uncle”. The only thing that surprises is the presence of Ridley Scott in the movie. He, once the brightest cinematic visionary who directed Alien, Thelma and Louise, Blade Runner, Gladiator - the cult films, made a melodrama that the average Hollywood artisan could make. A strange, but generally explainable fact. However, in this case, do not break through the thorns to the stars, you just need to watch a great, beautiful, kind and easy movie with outstanding acting and solid professional directing.
