Akihito Kanbara is the protagonist of the anime and the Runaway Beyond the Boundary (Kyoukai no kanata). A student of the second grade of high school, he is half a demon-him (although he looks like an ordinary person). This gives him immortality and the ability to quickly regenerate. He is also a member of the school literary club.
Seiyu Akihito Kanbara in the anime became Kenn, the character in childhood was voiced by May Tanaka.
Appearance and character
Akihito Kanbara looks like an ordinary seventeen year old guy. He has blond hair and light brown eyes. Most often, while watching an anime, the viewer sees him in school uniform.
Akihito is a soft, cheerful, friendly, open-minded young man. Sometimes he can be a little sarcastic, but still always remains sincere. He is one of those people who will not whine for nothing and will act. Despite his origin, Akihito wants to live like an ordinary person.
He loves girls with glasses - he considers them "dazzling beauties" and therefore collects photos of Kuriyama Mirai. A striking example of this is the phrase Akihito addressed to Mirai:
You must not die, because glasses suit you like that! In short, I love your glasses!
Akihito and Mirai
It was the meeting of Akihito Kanbara and Mirai Kuriyama that became the plot of the anime plot. Leaving school, the guy saw on the roof a girl who, as it seemed to him, was going to jump. Akihito ran to the roof to save the stranger, but she pierced him with a sword.
As it turned out, Kuriyama is the last descendant of the clan of hunters for him. She is able to control her own blood. This ability is very rare, therefore, even in the world of spirits, representatives of this clan are afraid and shun. For this reason, the girl was quite lonely.
Mirai tried to kill Akihito for a long time, but since the guy is immortal, she did not succeed. Soon they became friends and began to spend quite a lot of time together. The guy helped Mirai make new friends, often treated her to dinner. Due to the use of blood, a girl needs to eat a lot in order to maintain iron balance.
Throughout the anime, a romantic line develops between Akihito and Mirai, and in the end they fall in love.
"Beyond"
When Akihito Kanbara gets very serious injuries, he becomes "Beyond the Boundary" and goes into berserk mode. He loses control of himself. The guy’s eyes turn black with a multi-colored iris, the ends of the hair turn green.
In this state, he is incredibly strong. He quickly repairs all the damage, he has a lot of supernatural powers. He is surrounded by a green aura with fire that reflects attacks. Just screaming, Akihito is able to neutralize supernatural forces in a wide radius. This roar is capable of breaking a powerful restraining barrier. Akihito has the ability to control fire, to create many fireballs at the same time.
Later, he was able to take a share of the power under control, using part of his power “Beyond the Boundary” and retaining consciousness. The main weakness of this appearance is that all his strength is concentrated in his right hand. By controlling this force, Akihito can use destructive impulses from the hand that inflict significant damage and neutralize various supernatural beings and their attacks. He is also able to control the earth.
