When you want to have a fun party with or without reason, to call your best friends and have fun with the whole company, you always have to figure out how to spend more interesting time. If you really don’t have any ideas, you can turn on youth comedy and joyfully crunch popcorn under it.
For some reason, among college films of this
genre, comedies are most popular. You don’t have to think about them at all, the characters are simple and clear, the plot is linear, and the humor is most often either vulgar or very flat. With all due respect to Americans as a nation, one cannot help but notice that it is America that makes the standard, not particularly intelligent, youth comedies about college - “American Pie,” “Perfect Voice,” “Easy Student,” and others. Despite their straightforwardness,
box office grossing of such films are staggering, however, as are their popularity.
American Pie and Humor
Probably the most famous film of this nature is American Pie. Its success is so grand that the creators were not afraid to make a whole bunch of parts, none of which failed at the box office. And this, frankly, sincerely surprises and awakens, especially among the generation over 40, the saddest moods on the topic "where are we going." If you flip through advertising announcements on social networks, it is precisely those pages that promised continuous comedies about school, college - the list of them impresses with the originality and specificity of the posters.

Almost all the posters of such films depict from one to ten half-naked girls and pretty cheerful young people whose fun is a little like natural. As a striking example, the poster of the film "Almost in Law" will serve, and the plot of this film is almost classic for this genre. Sometimes directors take risky steps and instead of making regular comedies about college, they create real musicals. For example, “Ideal Voice”, which got a “deuce” from the majority of critics with a stretch, is a very awkward comedy with a claim to a musical. The songs, to be honest, are just as bad as the acting, and the plot is banal. The motives of the actors who give their consent to the shooting in such a bacchanal are completely incomprehensible. Any self-respecting servant of Melpomene, having received a script whose plot would be replete with something like "after a dramatic monologue, the heroine with a disgusting sound, gets rid of a poorly overcooked, plentiful breakfast," should think about changing the agent. But no, commercialism prevails.
What generation, such and cinema
Fortunately, youth comedies about college in 2013 are far from diverse, which makes us hope for a gradual atrophy of the genre as such. To avoid a complete collapse, it has now become fashionable to "dilute" ordinary comedies with elements of fiction or action, which slightly increases box office receipts. This is not to say that it is better for this genre to disappear from the cinema without too much noise, because some people only use it to raise their spirits. But still I want to hope that soon comedies about college, parties and youth problems with high-quality “above the belt” humor will appear.
