Stephen King's books are filmed quite often. But not always the directors and scriptwriters manage to convey the mystical and terrifying atmosphere that reigns in the stories of the King of Horrors.
The book "It" was already filmed in 1990. Then the picture did not produce the proper resonance, so Andreas Muschetti and his team decided to breathe new life into the novel. The book was divided into two parts. In the first film, the main characters are children, and in the second they are, but twenty-seven years later.
Plot
1989, Derry, Maine. The once quiet city was shocked by terrifying events. Children begin to disappear, and no one can find the culprit. At first, the police blame the disappearances of the children themselves, believing that they did not disappear, but fled from home. But soon they can no longer hide behind this version: in the sewers they find the remains of the bodies of the missing.
No one, except for a few children, sees that everything began a year ago, when Georges Denbrough died. And no one except the club of losers knows what kind of creature awakens under Derry.
