Medicinal product 'Human immunoglobulin'.

The use of the drug "Human immunoglobulin" as a medicine is currently very common in medical practice. It is prescribed for violations of the human immune system of any genesis.

This medication is an immunobiological medicine, a highly purified polyvalent human immunoglobulin. Here are some of the indications for the use of this pharmaceutical agent:

- primary or secondary immunodeficiency (as replacement therapy);

- thrombocytopenic purpura ;

- severe infections (including sepsis) caused by bacterial agents;

- Guillain-Barrรฉ syndrome;

- arising under the influence of autoimmune reactions, anemia;

- A special (autoimmune) form of hemophilia.

The above pathological conditions are the main ones in which the drug "Human immunoglobulin" is prescribed as a means for treatment. It is worth noting that this drug has found application as a means of preventing many diseases. Thus, the human immunoglobulin medication is indicated for cytostatic therapy, in the presence of immunodeficiencies of various etiologies (to prevent the possibility of developing serious diseases), with a low birth weight (less than 1,500 grams), and also with the threat of developing a common miscarriage.

There are some features of the drug, the knowledge of which is necessary for understanding the changes that occur under the influence of the drug. The medication "Human immunoglobulin" with intravenous administration is not able to evenly distribute throughout the body immediately. This process takes an average of six to seven days. Most of the drug (90%) is represented by monomeric IgG, the remaining 10% contain dimers of immunoglobulins G, A and M. The duration of persistence in the body of the administered drug is more than forty days, which indicates the long-term maintenance of the positive effect of the drug.

The dosage of the pharmaceutical product is very variable and is determined by the disease, its severity and individual characteristics of the human body. For this reason, the doctor should prescribe the "normal human immunoglobulin". Self-administration of the drug in its arbitrary dosage is unacceptable.

A contraindication to the prescription of a medication is the presence of a patient with a deficiency of immunoglobulin A caused by an autoimmune process, that is, the presence of antibodies to this globulin.

The preparation "Immunoglobulin" is made from the blood plasma of donors, which has passed a number of clinical trials (to confirm the absence of infections that can be transmitted through the blood).

Side effects, the presence of which is often noted by patients, are basically presented as typical for drugs (dizziness, headache) and occasionally atypical (tachycardia, hypotension, shortness of breath, cyanosis, myalgia, chills). It is extremely rare that an allergic reaction develops to the administration of the drug, accompanied by hypotension, collapse and loss of consciousness.

Clinical trials of the drug "Human immunoglobulin" have not been conducted on pregnant women (during lactation), therefore, the appointment of a medication to such patients should be avoided. After all, it is not known how it will affect the fetus and the baby.

Thus, the drug "Human immunoglobulin" is today the "number one" tool for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections associated with a decrease in the defenses of the immune system. Using it in modern medical practice has significantly reduced the incidence of acute respiratory infections, autoimmune and immunodeficiency diseases.
