Therapeutic physical education (LFK) is a non-specific method of rehabilitation and training therapy using sports and physical education. Exercise therapy has a therapeutic and prophylactic goal to accelerate the process of restoring human health and is an independent medical discipline.
Treatment with exercise therapy
Exercise therapy is an indispensable element in the treatment of patients who have injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system, since without the use of physiotherapy exercises the impaired function of support and movement is practically not restored.
This technique is used not only to exclude disease or damage, but also to prevent certain diseases, to avoid complications and exacerbations, as well as exercise therapy is an effective means of recovery.
Physical exercises are stimulants of all vital functions in the human body, therefore, exercise therapy is the main means to restore working capacity.
Physiotherapy exercises is one of the most important elements of complex treatment in the modern world. The exercise therapy complex carries ideally selected exercises for each person individually. The main advantage of complex treatment is that it has an effect not only on pathologically changed organ systems, organs or tissues, but also on the whole organism.
Action LFK

- improve blood circulation;
- improve lymph circulation;
- improve immunity;
- create a preventive effect;
- prevent pain;

And also, using exercise therapy, you can achieve:
- reduction of pain;
- strengthening muscles and ligaments;
- accelerate the growth of healthy tissue, both cartilage and bone;
- cleansing tissues of toxins and toxins, which contributes to increased blood flow.
Physical therapy exercises for the spine
To restore the individual parts of the musculoskeletal system, various exercise therapy exercises are applied. For example, for decompression of the spine, you will need to perform a number of specific exercises, which we will discuss later.
Vis exercise
1. Vis on the crossbar. In time
I of this exercise should try to completely relax all the spinal muscles, focusing on the spine.
2. Half-hanging on the crossbar. During this exercise, the legs should be on the floor, this simplifies the task. The principle remains the same, you need to completely relax the muscles.
3. Vis on the Swedish wall. The movement is carried out facing the wall. You should bend your legs back and try to bend. This exercise stimulates the stretching of the entire spine.
Lying exercises
1. The emphasis on the table. You should rest your brushes on the desk, while holding your hands under the costal arches. Next, you should tilt the body forward, without taking your legs off the floor. You need to concentrate on the spine and try to feel how it stretches.
2. Exercise while lying down. You should lie on your stomach, arms stretched forward, stretch. Exercise stimulates the stretching of the thoracic spine.
3. In a prone position. You need to lie on your back, with your hands behind your head, stretch. This movement stimulates the stretching of the lumbar spine.
Physical therapy exercises for the cervical spine
1. To perform this exercise, press the forehead on the palm of the hand, while tensing the neck muscles. Exercise lasts 5-7 seconds, repeated 3 times. After this, press the back of the head with your palm, repeat 3 times for 5-7 seconds.
2. It is necessary to strain the neck muscles by pressing on the left palm with the left temple, as well as on the right palm with the right temple. Perform the exercise for 5-7 seconds, repeat 3 times.
3. First you need to slightly tilt your head back, and then slowly bend forward, pressing the chin to the jugular fossa. Repeat the exercise at least 5 times.
4. In the starting position, keep the shoulders and head straight. Then turn your head to the right as far as possible. Move more than 5 times. Repeat turns in the other direction.
5. In the initial position, press the chin to the neck. In this position, turn the head first to the right more than 5 times, then to the left the same number of times.
6. Performing the last movement, the head must be thrown back. And then try to touch the right shoulder with the right ear, and the left shoulder with the left ear. Do exercises more than 5 times on each side.
Therapeutic physical education for the lumbar
The correct treatment can be ensured if the instructor of exercise therapy works with the patient. But in the case of preventive actions, physical therapy can be done independently.
1. Vis or half-vis. This exercise is performed on the bar, either touching the floor with the feet or not. In any case, the effect of the exercise will be positive. Hanging, relaxing your muscles, should be several sets of 1 minute.
2. In the initial position, a person stands with his hands on his hips. Perform ten inclinations forward and backward, left and right.
3. Standing and holding your hands on your hips, you should perform movements of the pelvis left and right, forward and backward, in each direction 10 times.
Floor exercises
1. You need to kneel and rest on the floor with your hands, then fold into a penknife and return to its original position. Repeat this movement should be 15-25 times.
2. Exercise lying on your stomach. You should rest your hands on the floor with your bent arms, then straighten your arms and, without taking your legs off the floor, squeeze out. The exercise should be repeated 10-20 times.
3. You should kneel, resting on the floor with straight arms. Then you need to bend your back up as much as possible and return to its original position. Also repeat 10-20 times.
4. Exercise lying on your back. Press the knees of the bent legs to the chest and return to the starting position. So continue 10-20 times.
Usually the instructor of exercise therapy advises to do all the movements gently and slowly. It is not necessary to wait for the spine to crunch, falling into place, since these movements are suitable only for preventive, home use.
Exercise therapy for fractures
Physiotherapy exercises are simply necessary when restoring the body after a fracture. To do this, use a selected set of exercises.
1. In order to restore mobility to a damaged joint, it is necessary to rotate with a damaged arm or leg, repeating the movement about 10 times. Keep in mind the fact that you can not apply this movement in the first few days after the plaster was removed.
2. To bring muscles in tone will help such an exercise. The affected leg or arm must be raised at an angle of approximately 30 degrees in the forward direction and held for a few seconds. Repeat the movement several times.
3. To tone the muscles of the lateral and posterior thighs, movements using the support should be performed. It is necessary to perform swings right and left feet forward and sideways 10 times, while you should hold on to the support.
4. This exercise therapy is applied after a leg fracture and creates a good effect for strengthening the calf muscles. You will also need support. Standing facing the support, you need to grab it with your hands, and then slowly rise on your toes and also slowly descend to the foot. If you need to increase the load, you can perform movements on one leg.
Massage
Exercise therapy helps relieve pain and muscle tension. The researchers confirmed that during the massage, the muscle is stretched and due to this, the inflammatory response of the cells is reduced. This proves that massage will be very useful for restoring the body after injuries.
With the help of vibration, pressure and friction, it is possible to exert influence on the organs and tissues of the human body. To achieve a therapeutic effect, massage should be done with special devices, but for preventive purposes it can be done with your hands.
We can conclude that exercise therapy is a very convenient, in most cases, painless therapy, with which you can not only cure the patient, but also prevent some diseases of an absolutely healthy person.
