Treatment of maxillary sinus inflammation: drops from sinusitis, physiotherapy, punctures

Sinusitis is a form of sinusitis - inflammation of the sinuses. In this disease, it is localized in the maxillary sinus. A factor predisposing to the disease of sinusitis is difficulty in nasal breathing. It can occur as a result of curvature of the nasal septum, and in childhood due to adenoids. At risk are people with weakened immunity as a result of chronic diseases, as well as allergies. It provokes the development of sinusitis and bacteriocarrier.

Most often, sinusitis develops against a background of a protracted catarrhal disease or flu, accompanied by severe rhinitis. In this case, often there is swelling of the nasal mucosa, due to which the outflow of contents from its sinuses is difficult. The first symptoms of sinusitis are discomfort in the nasal cavity and sinuses, which gradually develop into pain, often quite strong. The patient has a purulent discharge from the nose - brownish, yellow or green, and when it is difficult to outflow, the face swells. Acute sinusitis is usually accompanied by an increase in temperature to +38 degrees and above and a deterioration in the general condition of the patient.

Treatment of acute sinusitis most often requires antibiotics. However, this is not enough: local therapy is also mandatory, for which various sprays are used, special drops from sinusitis, inhalation. So, to relieve swelling of the mucous membrane with sinusitis, vasoconstrictor drugs are used - Nazivin, Tizin, Galazolin and others. All these drops from sinusitis do not cure, but in combination with other agents contribute to the speedy recovery of the patient, a prerequisite for which is the release of the maxillary sinuses from purulent contents. The Sinuforte drug has also proven itself perfectly: these drops from sinusitis are injected into the nasal cavity using a dispenser on a bottle. Do this once a day for several days, based on the recommendations of the doctor. The therapeutic effect of the drug "Sinuforte" is due to the fact that it contains a lyophilisate of juice and European cyclamen extract . This plant has been used for centuries in folk medicine to treat sinusitis: healers recommended burying its freshly squeezed juice in the nasal passages.

A few minutes after the injection of Sinuforte, abundant separation of pus and mucus begins, which can last several hours. This drug, therefore, helps to cleanse the maxillary cavities, causing reflex secretion. In parallel, other methods of treatment are used, in particular, physiotherapy: UHF, Ural federal district, as well as sinus lavage (“Cuckoo”) - it is carried out only in a medical institution. In many cases, homeopathic medicines give a good effect - for example, Cinnabsin. If conservative methods for the treatment of sinusitis have not paid off, an ENT doctor usually prescribes a puncture. Doing it with sinusitis makes sense if, despite all the efforts, the patient has severe sinus pain, aggravated by leaning forward, and fever, and the disease itself lasts more than two weeks. Since sinusitis is fraught with serious complications, it is not worth delaying with a puncture in this case.

During this operation, a puncture is made using a special needle, through which the maxillary sinuses from pus are washed with a disinfectant solution (usually furatsilinom). Washing is repeated for several days, inserting a catheter into the sinus. After that, the patient usually quickly recovers, but in some cases, repeated surgery is required.

Since getting rid of sinusitis can be quite difficult, you should strictly follow all the doctor's prescriptions. For treatment to have an effect, it must be comprehensive. It is necessary not only to take antibacterial agents, but also to instill drops of sinusitis in the nose, rinse the nasal cavity and attend physiotherapy. If medical recommendations are not followed, the disease can become chronic and it will be much more difficult to recover from it.
