On the eve of the Olympic Games in 2014, the witty comedy “Only Girls in Sports” was released. The actors who starred in this tape were already well known to the Russian audience thanks to their participation in famous television series.

The plot of this funny film is pretty much reminiscent of the picture "Only Jazz in Jazz", with the only difference being that the action takes place these days, and dressed up guys are hiding not in a jazz orchestra, but among the Russian team of snowboarders going to competitions in Sochi.
The director of this project was the legendary creator of Interns Evgeny Nevsky. Alexander Tsekalo acted as one of the producers , and Alexander Karpov wrote the script for the picture .
With a budget of $ 4 million at the box office, the tape doubled that amount and became one of the most successful films of 2014.

Some actors in the film “Only Girls in Sports” were familiar to Evgeny Nevsky from past collaborations. Among them, the performer of the role of Kit (Nikita) - Ilya Glinnikov (“Interns”, “Roof of the World”). It is worth noting that since school times, this artist was actively involved in sports. Although it was swimming and football, and not a snowboard, as shown in the picture, Ilya's previously acquired skills came in handy when working on a role.
His character, Keith, is a resourceful and bold guy who can find a way out of any situation. He goes to Sochi, dressed as brunette Pauline. While the guys pretend to be snowboarders, Nikita falls in love with the national team coach - Svetlana Nikolaevna - and tries to help her in everything.
Another comedic character - Swift (Fedyu) was played in the film by his favorite "cadet" of viewers - Alexander Golovin ("Bastards", "Women Against Men").
Sasha began his career at a fairly early age. The first success was participation in the issues of Yeralash magazine, after which there was a series of passing roles until the talented guy starred in the role of Maxim Makarov in the television series Kadetstvo and Kremlin cadets.
Today, the artist has acted a lot in television and film. He also occasionally participates in television shows and plays in the theater.
The hero of the Golovin got an unenviable role in the plot: disguised as a pretty blue-eyed blonde, he attracted the attention of businessman Tofik, and he began to persistently take care of the “charming woman”. As in the film “Only Girls in Jazz”, in order to help his friend Misha arrange a romantic meeting with his lover in the charming Tofig house, the hero of Golovin himself had to go on a date with a passionate boyfriend and detain him in every way possible.
The role of the tender lover of Mika (Mikhail) was played by Alexander Vedmensky ("Red", "Alice's Dreams").
Despite the fact that he is not very famous, the actor was able to play at a high level. He got the main love line in the film. Posing as a snowboarder Nastya, the guy falls in love with the main rival of Russian athletes - a charming American named Jane. To win her heart, he impersonates Nastya's twin brother, and soon an affair begins between the young people.
Among the leading actors in the film were also little-known (at that time) actors. “Only girls in sports” is a picture that became the first serious work of the artist Alexei Zolotovitsky. Although he had previously appeared in The President and His Granddaughter, as well as in The Sad Lady of Worms, real fame came to him after the role of Groshik (Sergey), an intellectual friend of the unlucky trinity who helped his friends get rid of his pursuers.

Despite the fact that all the best “female” roles in the film went to the guys, the famous Russian actresses starring in the film were also not offended.
Strict Svetlana Nikolaevna, who dared to take three unknown young “sportswomen” to the training camp, was played by Ekaterina Vilkova (“Dudes”, “Palm Sunday”, “Black Lightning”). It is noteworthy that it is she who flaunts in the center of the official poster for the film "Only girls in sports", while other actors are only in the background.
As in other films, this Vilkova played a great role, the only thing to complain about is metamorphosis with the color of her hair. On the poster, Vilkova is depicted as a blonde, however, in half the scenes of the tape, she is either a brunette or in a headdress that carefully conceals the color of her hair. And only in the finale of the picture, when Svetlana Nikolaevna pulls Kit into her room, her hair is blond again.
Another Russian movie star, who starred in more than 40 projects, was Lyanka Gryu ("Doomed to become a star", "Children under 16 ..."). She played a charming American Jane, from whom Misha simply throttled. For the sake of her sports career, the hero in love revealed to the tournament organizers all the hype with dressing up.
The main opponent of the trio in the film is the athlete Nechaeva, who was previously the best snowboarder in the Russian team, but with the advent of new ones she felt competition and did her best to harm them.
The envious girl was played by the young Russian actress Alena Chekhova (“He is a dragon”, “Hardcore”), who dreams of making a career in Hollywood. Despite a rather unpleasant role, in it Chekhov was able to show her ability to play well. In addition, throughout the whole picture, Alena had to deal with product placement (hidden advertising) of famous chocolate.

A nice feature of this film is the participation in it of a whole galaxy of talented artists.
The rector of the university, which has slightly unusual habits, was played by a very talented actor - Sergey Burunov (Cinderella, Friday). And Igor Leonidovich, the owner of a night club who sent his thugs to find the main characters, is Mikhail Gorevoy (Guardian Angel, Lord Officers: Save the Emperor).
Of particular note is the game of Mikhail Bogdasarov (Cinderella.ru, Vacation in High Security), who got the role of Tofig.
This tragicomic character also received a love line in the picture, which ultimately ended happily, like most of the events of the film “Only Girls in Sports”.
Actors and lesser known participated in the project. This is Marina Yakovleva (“After the rain on Thursday,” “One, two - no harm!”), Mikhail Trukhin (“Streets of broken lights”, “On the game”), Dmitry Mukhamadeev (“1612”, “State Councilor”) and Sergey Romanovich (“Affectionate May”, “Kitchen”).

Actors and other members of the crew have officially confirmed that the continuation of this film will soon appear on the screens. However, this time the guys will have to participate in a water surfing competition. It remains a mystery how the guys solve the issue of swimwear.
The producers of the project announced that in 2016 there will be a sequel to the picture "Only girls in sports." Some actors even managed to sign an agreement to participate in the tape. However, most likely, viewers will see a sequel in 2017. And if you consider that the budget of the upcoming picture is cut to $ 2 million, perhaps some actors from the first part will not be continued.
