Of course, many gun lovers like all-metal “toys”. However, recently it has become fashionable to acquire traumatic pistols with plastic frames. Why? Everything is very simple. It is generally accepted that weapons of this design are, in comparison with all-metal, more reliable and perfect in ballistic and technical terms. At the same time, the plastic frame provides greater comfort due to lower weight. One of these weapons is the Thunderstorm 04 pistol. We’ll talk about him today.
Base to create
Many people who know a lot about traumatic weapons believe that the model should be attributed to the continuation of the whole family. Nevertheless, this opinion is erroneous. It would be much more logical to single out the “Thunderstorm 04” pistol, reviews of which you can find at the end of this article, in a separate, so to speak, product line. The thing is that the model is in fact an analog of the “Fort 17P”. Previous models were also produced in conjunction with the Ukrainian company of the same name, and 04 was no exception. More specifically, in Ukraine for the traumatic pistols of the series, spare parts and components are produced, and the assembly takes place directly at the Tekhnoarms plant. There is also a primary debugging of weapons. Needless to say, already here on the surface of the gun markings are applied? Such a tandem is not new.
Innovations
The shape of the weapon, as well as its ergonomics, have not changed. Let us remind once again that, in order to create the “Thunderstorm 04” pistol, Russian engineers took the Ukrainian-made traumatic pistol under the name “Fort 17” as the basis. Already now we can say that there can be no special claims to the tactical and technical characteristics of the gun, since the previously named model also clearly did not need to be refined at one time. The only thing that can upset the user who decided to purchase the “Thunderstorm” is that the gun does not have flexible adjustments for a specific hand size. Sometimes interchangeable backs are quite difficult to find, and this can take a lot of money, if not money, then time and nerves for sure. At the same time, the “Thunderstorm 04” pistol is no exception in this regard. Almost everywhere we can encounter almost identical situations, because adjustable handles for traumatic tools (and not only traumatic) are a real rarity. For this reason, calling a complex fit to the size of the hand should not be a drawback, it would be illogical.
Highlights
If we try to recall the review of previous models of “Thunderstorm”, we will certainly come to the conclusion that the most interesting was the pistol barrels in the whole family. This traumatic weapon has four types of trunks at once. They quickly got the corresponding names under the letter V, which differ in indices from 1 to 4. It should be noted that there is a significant difference between the trunks. Not to mention this fact would be blasphemy. At the same time, the second and third variations have a certain structural similarity. Paradoxically, with practically the same design, the trunks in practice demonstrate quite different results.
Trunks and their features
If we consider the first version of trunks, we will notice that they are suspiciously similar to those trunks that IzhMech uses to integrate into their devices. Inside, you can find two teeth of a trapezoidal shape. They have pointed edges. The teeth are designed to literally burst a bullet that rushes at an enviable speed during a shot. Thus, we automatically receive a ban on the use of large-caliber ammunition. Why so? Let's explain the process, so to speak, more popular. More stock provides more power when fired, right? But, passing through the pointed cloves, the bullet will be torn. Therefore, we will lose all power at this moment, and the bullet will lose its speed, starting to move along an unpredictable trajectory. From this we can conclude that “Thunderstorm 04”, a photo of which you can find in this article, clearly does not attract the title of an ideal means of self-defense even in the summer season. After all, it was during this period that the potential enemy was dressed quite lightly and catchy, which allows the use of medium power cartridges.
Second, third and fourth versions
Such trunks were installed on traumatic guns only in the first time. Very soon, the company changed course by developing a second version. Obstacles in the bore were replaced by solid ones. In practice, this meant their expansion. Only then did the developers decide to make the passage of the bullet through the channel give less loss, and therefore the obstacles were further reduced in terms of height. The version of the barrel with a solid obstacle, reduced immediately in two planes - this is the third view. Many experts believe that an ideal traumatic weapon should not have any obstacles in the barrel. Well, the engineers considered the same, and therefore in the fourth version of the barrel realized this design feature.

There are basically no bad reviews about this weapon. They appeared only in the first time, or now they are left by those who own old models. New variations are more advanced in terms of shooting and in terms of operation due to a change in the version of the barrel and the use of a modified design. Therefore, there are no complaints about the weapon, it copes with its tasks perfectly.
