The cause of many gynecological diseases is genital infections in women. Often it happens that the inflammatory process is asymptomatic and has fuzzy signs of its development. Such infections can affect many different organs and systems of the body. If their treatment is delayed or is carried out incorrectly, they can lead to the development of female infertility.
Sexual infections in women have a number of symptoms that are traditional in other diseases of the reproductive system. So, they are characterized by pains in the lower abdomen, itching and burning, a feeling of discomfort in the perineum. In general, the symptoms of each individual disease can be different, depending on the degree of neglect of the disease. There is such a thing as latent infections in women. Their treatment begins only when the diagnosis reveals their presence. This happens because many of the existing diseases of the reproductive system, which have an infectious basis, do not always manifest and proceed in a lethargic form. And their signs can be detected only with a decrease in the body's immunity, stressful situations, hypothermia and a frequent change of partners. Consider the main sexual infections in women and their symptoms:
- Chlamydia The causative agent of the disease is small gram-negative cocci. After infection, the disease may not manifest itself within 5-12 days.
In women, this disease occurs almost without symptoms, only occasionally there are vaginal discharge and pain in the lower abdomen. Diagnosis of chlamydia is carried out using laboratory tests. The disease affects the genitourinary system, rectum and posterior pharyngeal walls. As a result, it can cause an ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous abortion, or fetal malnutrition.
As a treatment, local antiseptics and medications are used. Women should carefully monitor the recovery process, because there is a high risk of complications.
- Thrush is a disease that is not a sexually transmitted disease, but has similar symptoms with this kind of disease. Many genital infections in women, among which thrush is also called, develop as a result of a decrease in immunity, the use of antibiotics, sometimes even during pregnancy.
Among the main symptoms of the disease, itching, burning, redness of the external genitalia are distinguished, the discharge becomes white curdled, and sexual intercourse is accompanied by pain.
- Genital herpes is a genital infection caused by a viral infection. Genital viral infections, among which this disease is located, have an incubation period of up to about two weeks. Symptoms of herpes are pain and itching in the external genital area. Sometimes, if the infection occurred for the first time, there may even be muscle pain and fever.
- Ureaplasmosis. Ureaplasma is the causative agent of this disease, which causes inflammation in the genitourinary system. The main symptoms are vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor, pain in the lower abdomen, and painful urination.
- Mycoplasmosis The disease affects the area of ββthe cervix, vagina, as well as the uterus and urethra. Traditionally, for all genital infections, mycoplasmosis leads to abdominal pain, itching and painful intercourse. Pain also occurs during urination. The treatment of the disease is prescribed complex: taking antibiotics and stimulants of the immune system.
Note that treatment of genital infections in women should only begin after a thorough diagnosis, since many diseases have a similar clinical picture. So take care of your health and be vigilant!
