As we already said, a lot of various films have been shot recently about a poor girl who loved to work. However, many of them are by no means childish tales and are not suitable for children. This film shows a bright trace of the literary character created by Charles Perrault.
In the story, Cinderella is left without a mother, and her father later marries a second time. Moreover, his choice falls on the widowed lady with two young daughters. It would seem that the life of a young and dreamy person is getting better, as she has a full-fledged family. However, the stepmother and her daughters do not like Cinderella, on the contrary, they dump on her all the homework. For example, five young actresses immediately claimed the role of the main character. The film itself was shot at two film studios (German and Czechoslovak): DEFA and Barrandov. The shooting was carried out in one of the brightest castles called Moritzburg (it was there that filmed episodes with the royal residence), in Šumava, the village of Schwych and other picturesque places in Pilsen.
Unlike other adaptations, in the fairy tale “Three Nuts for Cinderella” (the actors playing the roles in the film will be listed a little later), the main character is helped not by a fairy with a page, but by three magic nuts.
"Three nuts for Cinderella": a brief plot of the picture
In fact, the plot is based on a fairy tale about Cinderella, created by the notorious Grimm brothers, with some additions from Bozena Nemtsova. In the center of events is, of course, Cinderella. Unlike her other prototypes, this girl knows how to ride a horse and shoots perfectly from a bow. She lives in her stepmother's house and plays the role of a servant rather than a full-fledged daughter.
The Prince is a wayward and obstinate guy who loves to hunt more than to learn. His parents want to marry, which is why he constantly argues with them and quarrels. During one of his trips through the forest, the future royal heir to the throne meets Cinderella. In total, the girl and the playful young man meet three times: twice in the forest and once at the ball. They fall in love with each other, the main character loses her shoe, and then the film "Cinderella" ends with a wedding.

The original budget of the picture was 2 million crowns. However, later the director managed to find sponsors among German partners, who added another 1 million crowns. That is why both German and Czech actors starred in the film. Moreover, they all spoke the text exclusively in their own language. The movie was later dubbed.
During the filming was not without improvisation. In the last scene, according to the scenario, it was planned that Cinderella and the prince were supposed to ride on horseback into the distance. However, on the day of filming, there was so much snow that in the final, the prince's horse simply fell into a snowdrift. Therefore, Pavel Travnichek had no choice but to watch the girl galloping forward.
