In 2005, the film “Sin City” (IMDb: 8.10) made a dramatic revolution in the movie screenings of comics. Frank Miller performed the stylistics of graphic novels on the film very correctly: the game of contrasts, black and white contours, white blood like snow, black saturated background, rare but rich pulses of color where the author wanted to emphasize something. In such a stylish design, the creative union of the creators - directors K. Tarantino, R. Rodriguez and F. Miller - presented to the audience a story about dishonest cops, maniac psychopaths, gangsters and simply miserable townsfolk living in the criminal capital of the world - the Beisin megalopolis called the Sin City. The success of the project contributed to the start of the production of the sequel to the tape. So, in 2014, “Sin City 2” appeared (actors: Eva Green, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba and others).
Sequel
The second part not only continues the visual line of the first film, but also filmed in 3D. The film was shot by the same Rodriguez and Miller, but without Tarantino. For objective reasons
Only the only short story is based on the original comics - the headline, “A Woman Worth Killing For,” F. Miller came up with all the other stories himself. In general, the plots relate to the fate of the characters from the first part. In the second film, even those whom the creators seem to have irrevocably killed are returned. Due to objective reasons, the actors involved in the production of the first tape do not participate in the movie “Sin City 2”: Michael Clarke Duncan and Brittany Murphy suddenly died , Devon Aoki is on maternity leave, Clive Owen turns into a Josh Brolin thanks to the efforts of a plastic surgeon .
The sequel narrates four novels, of which only one (called “The Long Terrible Night”) introduces the viewer to a new character - the young player Johnny, who won the poker game against the almighty Senator Roark. The three remaining ones complement the stories of heroes known to the audience from the first film and who migrated to Sin City 2.
Actors and roles
The photo, which became the title poster of the sequel, serves as a clear proof that, in addition to returning to the old images of professionals like Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke, beginner talents play in the movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt reincarnated as the seasoned and extremely arrogant brilliant poker player Johnny. And the episodic actor Christopher Lloyd had a few minutes of screen time to make his character one of the most impressive and memorable. Lloyd intentionally made a parody of his well-known character of an extravagant genius doctor from the epic “Back to the Future,” only in Miller’s project is his character always a drunken, boorish surgeon who does not ask unnecessary questions, swears and patches hastily of his patients.

Despite the professionalism and efforts of the cast, according to foreign film critics, the best acting work is the image embodied by Eva Green. She is brilliant in the role of the deadly and treacherous seducer Ava Lord, who skillfully manipulates the representatives of the strong half of humanity. She changes faces forever, acting as a frightened victim, distraught from the passions of a nymphomaniac, an impregnable goddess. The novella, dedicated to the character of Eve, is the best in the picture, the most dramatic and intriguing.
