Mauser pistol. Modern modification of the legendary weapon

The Mauser pistol has always been more than just a weapon. His legendary image was formed by participation in films and mention in literary works.

Contrary to its name, the gun was developed by the Federle brothers, who worked at the Mauser arms factory. But in 1895 it was patented by P. Mauser, and in 1896 the plant of the same name began its mass production. Thanks to the great power, the manufacturers managed to set a fabulous price of 5,000 German marks on the Mauser pistol, exceeding the price of the Opel car. Over forty years, more than a million units of the K-96 pistol have been produced. After Germany was banned in 1939, Spain began to produce weapons with a caliber of more than 7.96 mm.

The Mauser pistol is a light self-loading carbine that allows for targeted shooting from a distance of 200 meters. Its declared lethal force from a distance of 1000 m did not justify itself, since the spread of bullets in this case was several meters horizontally. For effective aiming, a butt was required, but the designers did not provide for it. Therefore, a pistol holster made of walnut was used as it . At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Mauser K-96 was much superior in range to the rest of the short-barreled weapons.

In total, about a hundred modifications of the Mauser K-96 were developed. A significant change was the reduced trigger size, a change in barrel length and new types of fuses. Despite this, Mauser pistols were hardly used to equip the army. Perhaps it was due to the large weight, size and inconvenient charging - discharge. In the very first modifications, to empty the gun, the cartridges of the store had to be removed, having worked out manually the entire reloading cycle. But these weapons were readily bought up by the civilian population โ€” hunters, travelers, and bandits.

Now the Mauser pistol is produced in limited quantities. So, in 1970, the police ordered a batch of Mauser H @ P, as it is quickly and easily put into combat position. In 1983, its production was discontinued.

The traumatic gun Mauser HSc mod.90 became a natural โ€œoffshootโ€ of short-barreled weapons. Production is owned by Rohm GmbH under license from Mauser. This model is a 7-shot pistol with a double-action trigger, weighing about 600 g without bullets and 165 mm long. Outwardly, it is not much different from the Mauser HSc Super combat model, popular in 1970-1980.

Mauser HSc mod.90 almost all, except for the steel barrel, is made of light aluminum alloys. For the safety of those around, protruding teeth are provided inside the barrel, eliminating the possibility of firing with solid bullets. Whereas rubber bullets go through elasticity. The barrel itself is rigidly fixed in the frame, around it is a return spring.

To the left of the bolt is a fuse, when turned on, safely pulls the trigger from the cocking. When the fuse is turned off, the first shot is possible by self-cocking or cocking the trigger manually.

The gun is powered from removable steel stores containing 7 rounds.
