Time is waiting for no one. Very often a person thinks that he will have tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or even a whole year. But only having grown old, he realizes that every day he was just wasting time aimlessly. Hoping for tomorrow, you can achieve only one thing - to grow old imperceptibly for yourself. There are many works in the literature that tell about what happens to a person when he is not worried about the future and thinks about nothing. The Tale of Lost Time is a good example.
Who wrote The Tale of Lost Time?
Its author was Eugene Schwartz - a domestic prose writer, journalist, writer, poet and playwright. His work in the future underwent film adaptations and theatrical productions, but the plan for "The Tale of Lost Time" has never been changed.
The writer was born in 1896, October 21, in the city of Kazan. Due to the work of the head of the family, the Schwarzians constantly moved from place to place.
In 1914 he entered a higher educational institution, where he studied law. That's just Eugene does not leave interest in theatrical art. In 1916, the guy was drafted into the army. He takes an active part in hostilities. When they conduct an assault on Yekaterinodar, they get a heavy concussion, because of which he is sent to a hospital and demobilized.
In 1919 he entered the Rostov University, where he began to work in the “Theater Workshop”. 1921 - arrives in Petrograd. Here he is recognized as a good storyteller and a wonderful improviser.
Eugene Schwartz: the beginning of writing
For the first time "in a big way" begins to engage in writing in 1923, when he comes to the Donbass. Here he works in the tabloid “All-Russian Stoker”, helps with the release of a literary supplement to the publication “Slaughter”. Returning home, releases the first work entitled "The Story of an Old Balalaika."
1925 - collaborates with the children's editions “Hedgehog” and “Chizh”. From time to time, popular children's stories and novels go out from under the pen of Eugene. And as proof of this - the plan "Tales of Lost Time". In 1929, the play Underwood was staged according to his script. When the war began, Eugene Schwartz expressed his deep desire to continue his work in besieged Leningrad, he had to be evacuated to Kirov by force.
Here he creates works that tell about the besieged Leningrad and its defenders. Evgeny Lvovich Schwartz dies in 1958. Throughout his life, he created 22 plays, wrote 13 scripts, 11 novels, short stories and tales. He collaborated with many theaters and publishers, was a recognizable person at film studios, and all because he spoke simply about the important.

In 1978, the eponymous cartoon was released. The year 1990 was marked by the release of a musical-puppet film-performance, which was directed by Dmitry Gendenstein. And in 2006, the MEL Theater staged a play based on the tale. The plan "Tales of Lost Time" was so good that this work was shown to the audience 4 more times.
Story tale
"The Tale of Lost Time" tells the story of a third-grader Pet, who studied poorly. He always thought that he still had a lot of time, and he would be able to catch up with his classmates in the second quarter or in the third, but not now, now he cannot. And then one day, waking up in the morning, he realized that he had lost all his time. He turned into an old grandfather, whom no one knew, he had nowhere to go and nothing to live on. The plan "Tales of Lost Time" addresses serious issues of everyday life, turning them into fabulous adventures.
Wandering into the forest, he finds a hut and decides to spend the night there. As soon as midnight arrived, four children appeared in the house, they began to count to whom and how many years should be given. Petya understands that these are evil wizards who took time from children, that they did not appreciate him. And in order to return everything as it was, the student must find three more friends in misfortune.
As soon as the wizards left the house, Petya goes in search of the victims. He has little time - until midnight all the children must gather in a forest hut and turn the clock hands 77 times. Then they will become themselves again, and the evil sorcerers will disappear. And the main character succeeded. The plot will reveal the plan for the "Tale of Lost Time" in more detail.
"The Tale of Lost Time." Plan
The plan for the tale of E.L. Schwartz's “Tale of Lost Time” consists of the following items:
- Petya Zubov - the reader gets acquainted with the main character of the tale.
- A student who is lagging behind in studies - Petya Zubov believes that sometime later he will catch up with his peers, and now he is too lazy to do this .
- Incident in the wardrobe - Petya turned into an old man, as a school cloakroom girl informed him about.
- In captivity of disappointment - even her own mother did not recognize Petya. He falls into despair and realizes that he has not achieved anything in life and that he already has no time to fix everything.
- Forest house - the boy goes out of town into the forest, where he accidentally finds an empty hut.
- Community of sorcerers - evil wizards appear in the forest house who share among themselves the selected time.
- The secret of wizards - talking among themselves, sorcerers talk about how Petya can regain his childhood.
- Search for friends by misfortune - the sorcerers took the time from three more schoolchildren, except the main character, and in order to remove the spell, they all must act together.
- New acquaintances - it was difficult to find old schoolchildren in a big city, but the hero found one girl in the park and the other behind the garages when she played hopscotch. The company found the last friend, unfortunately, when it was already dark - he rode on public transport.
- Tram number 9 - to get to the forest by tram. In the transport compartment there was a group of schoolchildren who gave way to the “old people”, which made the lazy schoolchildren who had lost their time very ashamed.
- In search of a hut - old children quickly reached the forest, but for a very long time they were looking for a hut. Petya realized that sometimes it’s worth the time to save it later.
- The long-awaited transformation - a company of friends was able to find the hut, Petya turned the clock hands 77 times, and everything became as before.
The main idea of the work
The plan of "Tales of Lost Time" is simple and understandable, however, like the plan of any such work. But the main thing in this fairy tale is its main idea, which every reader should remember. The main characters escaped from a sudden onset of old age, but in real life a person who wastes his time does not notice how old he is, but when he gets old, he will not get a second chance to change everything.
Time is waiting for no one. It just goes, turning the years into dust, which ingloriously settles on the path of life.
