Biography
At the age of 18, Yuri Grebenshchikov was accepted to study at the Moscow Art Theater School. This was done by the visiting committee, which evaluated the acting talent present at the young man. Along with him, another well-known actor of the Soviet Union A.L. Filozov entered training. Yuri spent four years there and accordingly completed his studies in 1959. After that, the future actor decided not to waste time in vain and immediately enter the Moscow Drama Theater, erected in honor of K. S. Stanislavsky. There, Yuri worked with such well-known cultural figures as M. Knebel and A. Popov. In addition, he was lucky to take part in performances written by A. A. Vasiliev. These include Vassa Zheleznova and The Adult Daughter of a Young Man.
Further career
When Vasiliev left the Moscow Theater, Yuri Grebenshchikov followed him. Together, they began to work further in favor of the development of art, but already at the Taganka Theater. There, the future film actor rehearsed for a long time the play "Serso", written by a famous writer at that time V. I. Slavin. The premiere of the actor’s performance took place in 1985. Two years after these events, the actor again began to take on roles in plays written by Vasiliev. This time, the work in which Grebenshchikov took part was called the School of Dramatic Art. The death of the actor
The tragedy overtook the man quite unexpectedly at the end of January 1988. When Yuri walked home at night after celebrating the 50th anniversary of V.S. Vysotsky, he was hit by a car. The wounds were so serious for that time that the actor could not recover from them. He lay on the bed for another four months, after which he died. As it turned out later, the poet A.P. Mezhirov shot down Grebenshchikov. Initially, it was believed that after the incident, the culprit of the incident quickly disappeared from the scene of an accident. However, Mezhirov’s daughter claims that her father tried as best he could to help the victim. Yuri Grebenshchikov was buried in the territory of the Southern cemetery.
