Pervouralsky Novotrubny Zavod began its life during Peter the Great. In 1732, by decree of the king, Demidov founded the Vasilyevo-Shaitansky iron-making factory. He made cast iron, as well as screaming iron.
Factory History
After the revolution, when the civil war ended, literally everything was missing, including pipes for steam locomotives. In 1920, in January, the first meter-long seamless pipe was rolled in the Urals. It was a revival of the factory.
Then we needed pipes for water supply. In 1929, they began to make a pipe-drawing workshop. But after they finally decided to build the Novotrubny plant.
During World War II, he provided for the country's defense needs, produced pipes for the needs of aviation, for tank construction, and even for missiles. During these difficult years, the team of the enterprise manufactured rockets, mortar barrels, cylinders for engines for tanks. In 1946, work began on technology to create stainless hot-rolled pipes. In Soviet times, research institutes were located on the territory of the plant.
As for everyone, the nineties were difficult for the enterprise. But the plant was able to overcome difficulties with honor, and in 1992 it was already an open joint stock company.
OJSC Pervouralsky Novotrubny Zavod in 1998 produced 442 thousand tons of pipes. But in 2000, he increased output by 34 percent, and after three years - already by 55 percent. After such high performance, the company became the fourth in the country to produce pipes.
