With the help of the film "The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia", actors of Italian and Russian origin have been giving the audience a small celebration for the past forty years! But could it be otherwise if the master of his craft Eldar Ryazanov and his Italian colleague Franco Prosperi worked on the tape?
The creators of the picture
In the film “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia”, the actors, to be precise, their heroes, rush through the largest cities of the country in search of mythical treasures buried by a Russian emigrant. The plot of the comedy is famously twisted, and this is not surprising, because 4 people worked on the script at once: Emil Braginsky (Ryazanov’s permanent partner), Eldar Ryazanov himself and his colleague Prosperi, as well as a certain Giuseppe Mokkya.
The process of creating a screenplay was not easy: Ryazanov and Braginsky had to rewrite the script more than once. And for the first time this had to be done in Rome, when the director came to agree on a shooting with a famous Italian producer named D. de Laurentis (it was he and his company who were to oversee this project).
The shooting took place both in Italy and in the USSR. The most difficult car stunts were performed by Italian riders. However, it is impossible to write off the accounts and actors: there are such moments in the picture when stunts performed by Andrei Mironov (jump from the second floor to the runway), Ninetto Davoli, as well as Aligiero Noskeze (riding in an inverted car) are shot close up.
Actors and roles "The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia", a short plot of the comedy
Every moment of Ryazanov’s comedy is filled with active action and new events. In the film "The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia", the actors and the film crew did everything so that it was impossible to take their eyes off the screen.
This story begins with the fact that in Rome an elderly emigrant from Russia dies. On her deathbed in the hospital, she reveals to Olga (her granddaughter performed by A. Santilli) the truth about the treasure once buried in Petersburg. In addition to Olga, this expensive secret was heard by everyone who was present in the chamber of the dying.
What was Olga's surprise when, during a flight to Russia on a plane, she meets all the witnesses of her grandmother’s death: starting with the mafia (T. Chimarosa), whose pregnant wife was lying on the next couch, and ending with the old woman’s doctor (L. Ballista). Already in the cabin, treasure hunters begin to lively discuss how they will share other people's money. Soon, they move from words to actions: competitors begin to cripple and slowly eliminate each other. And in Russia, they are waiting for another participant in all this crazy pursuit of treasure - St. Petersburg policeman Vasiliev (A. Mironov), disguised as a guide.

If the first feature of Ryazanov's comedy is a twisted plot, then the second is an international cast. In the film “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia”, the actors of the USSR play Russian characters, and Italians play Italian. The only exception is Evgeny Evstigneev, who happened to play the Italian lame.
The first colorful comedic couple was composed by Italian artists A. Noskeze and N. Davoli. Giuseppe and Antonio play in the film ambulances, who brought the dying Russian to the hospital. Antonio is pompous and self-confident, Giuseppe, on the contrary, is a little silly and used to tell the truth, as his mother taught him.
At the airport, this couple is met by the hero of Andrei Mironov, designed to expose treasure hunters. Another heroine is Olga, whose role was played by Italian Antonia Santilli.
Minor role performers
The actors of the film “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia” are Olga Aroseva with Evgeny Evstigneev, Tano Cimarosa.
Evstigneev (“Watch out for the car”) appeared in the frame in the image of a lame Italian, who, despite his injury, also tries to fight for treasures. Olga Aroseva ("The Adventures of the Magician") played the warm mother of operative Vasiliev. And the Italian Cimarosa embodied on the screen the image of the formidable Rosario Agro - an experienced and cruel mafia.
