Some people use expensive creams, which, judging by the ads, have a miraculous property. In fact, the effectiveness of such funds is very doubtful. Today, cosmetology clinics offer a lot of options for correcting such skin defects. Using modern methods, you can permanently get rid of hated scars and scars.
One of the progressive ways to remove such defects is Buccy therapy, although it is rarely used. What is this and what are the advantages of the method? What are the contraindications and how is the procedure carried out? You will learn all the information by reading this article.
What is this method?
For the first time, Bucca's rays began to be used in dermatology. They have been effective in combating such a serious ailment as psoriasis. For several decades, Bucca therapy has been used as one of the ways to treat affected skin. Experts resorted to this method extremely rarely, only in cases where other procedures were ineffective. The rays of Bucca perfectly display keloid and hypertrophic scars. In a percentage ratio, the effectiveness of this therapy is from 70 to 98%.
Rays are super soft x-rays. They are produced by a special apparatus, the voltage of which is 10 kW. Currently, Bucca therapy is used extremely rarely, it was abandoned in favor of photochemotherapy (PUVA) and other equally effective methods.
Advantages and disadvantages of therapy
If it is necessary to remove a keloid scar, then the use of Bucca therapy will be most effective. This technique has both pros and cons. The advantages include the following factors:
- decrease in pain;
- after the procedure, the reverse development of the scar is activated, that is, it begins to decrease;
- inhibition of the processes of further scarring of the dermal tissue occurs;
- skin itching is eliminated.
After a full course of procedures, keloid or hypertrophic scars are significantly reduced in size. They become almost invisible. Instead, a normotrophic scar forms.
The course of Bucca therapy is from two to ten procedures. It all depends on the size of the scar or scar.
The disadvantages include the duration of treatment. Between courses of therapy should be an interval of at least 45 days. Another drawback - this is albeit insignificant, but the radiation that a person receives during the procedure. The dose is 10-12 Gray.
Bucca therapy. Indications for the procedure
In addition to correction of scars and scars, this type of therapy is used in dermatology. Indications for its use are various skin diseases:
- chronic as well as seborrheic eczema;
- neurodermatitis;
- hydrodenitis;
- mycoses;
- cheilitis;
- Darier's disease;
- psoriatic rashes;
- eczema of the scalp and many others.
In addition, this method is effective for herpes, warts, acne vulgaris, hemangioma, etc.
To whom such therapy is contraindicated
This therapeutic method has certain contraindications. It is not prescribed in two cases:
- with violations in the circulatory system;
- if there are kidney diseases.
Preparation process before the procedure
In the presence of fresh scars and scars, no preparation is required. Such defects are quickly and effectively eliminated with Bucca therapy. But old, thick scars are much more difficult to eliminate. In this case, smoothing (epithelization) of the upper layer of damaged tissue is carried out. This is accomplished in two ways:
- cryodestruction method;
- the introduction of hormonal drugs, such as Triamcinolone, Hydrocortisone, Kenalog.
After the smoothing of the upper tissues of the scar was made, proceed directly to Bucca therapy.
Treatment
Although these x-rays are called soft, they nevertheless strongly affect the skin. During the procedure, the specialist should be careful. Treatment of a scar on the face is as follows:
- A thin plate of lead is taken and a hole corresponding to the shape of the scar is cut out in it.
- The plate is applied to the face, thus highlighting the area with affected tissues. The procedure is carried out in order to protect a healthy skin from exposure to rays.
- Then, healed tissue is irradiated. To do this, use a special apparatus, the current in which reaches 10 mA. It is important that the distance from the device’s tube to the scar is within 3-5 cm.
Between the first and second procedure should be an interval of at least 45 days. The subsequent gap between the courses of therapy should be 2 months.
Beech rays are especially effective for removing fresh scars. Old skin defects are recommended to be removed with surgical treatment.
What can be the complications?
As with any therapeutic procedure, certain complications can occur. This is mainly redness of the skin and pigmentation. As a rule, such manifestations disappear on their own within 7-14 days. Rays can also provoke more serious complications, for example, atrophy of the skin, in which tissue thinning occurs, and telangiectasia - the expansion of small vessels. In rare cases, non-healing wounds become a side effect of therapy, which subsequently develop into oncology (squamous cell carcinoma) and Marjolen's ulcer.
Since rays can cause such serious complications, this method of treatment is rarely used by specialists.
Skin recovery after the procedure
Skin care after such therapy is important. For these purposes, use a fat cream. The “Rescuer” is best suited; you can also use products that contain panthenol. These drugs contribute to the healing and restoration of the epidermis.
Before using ointments and creams, be sure to study their composition. For skin care after Bucca therapy, preparations containing Vaseline are contraindicated. If there is a high dryness of the skin, you can treat the affected area with drugs such as Actovegin, Solcoseryl, Iruksol.
The use of such funds will help to quickly normalize the epidermis tissue. The duration of the rehabilitation course is about two months.
