Often, the same characters endowed with similar strength become antipodes, which makes the confrontation more spectacular. For a relatively short period of time, the audience managed to get acquainted with many heroes. However, the Marvel universe is so rich that it becomes difficult to remember everyone.
What is Marvel?
Many have heard, but not everyone understands what this name bears. First of all, this is an American corporation that publishes comics. All Marvel characters act alone or in series; most of them live in a fictional universe called Earth-616.
The main competitor of Marvel is DC Comics. She is much smaller in all respects - so, her main characters are Batman and Superman. According to unofficial estimates, due to the frenzied popularity of Marvel, its value as a large corporation is over $ 4 billion. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired it.
First prototypes
Any story has its beginning. The Marvel comic book universe was no exception. At the time of formation, in the early 40s of the last century, it was difficult to call it the "Universe". The list of Marvel characters included Human Torch and the anti-hero Namor Submariner. In 1941, Captain America was born, who became the sales leader that same year.
On this “big three” should not stop. The first author, founder Martin Goodman, resorted to the help of young Stan Lee. With their help, other Marvel characters appear: the Destroyer, Yula, Miss America. The post-war years do not favor comic heroes too much, the sales level drops to zero.
Second wave
It was only in the early 60s that the corporation came up with the familiar Fantastic Four. Her characters did not wear costumes, led an ordinary life, often quarreled with each other, and were more identified with ordinary people. A wave of recognition captured the studio completely. Inspired by the right direction, Marvel creates entire series of superheroes and their antiheroes, making it possible to bring them together more often.
So the most famous characters of Marvel appear: Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, X -Men, Daredevil, Magnetto, Venom, Green Goblin, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus. Perhaps the most successful of all is Spider-Man. This affects the modern screen incarnation - Spider-Man is one of the first to acquire an independent film, released in 2002 with Toby Maguire in the title role. In a later period, the Guardians, the Dark Knight, the Inhumans and the Black Panther were born.
Characteristic Marvel Characters
Empowering superheroes has become part of their creation. Almost each of them had their own history, which was not immediately paid attention to. Many, such as the young hero Spider-Man, were too controversial and often indulged in doubts, and were also exposed to typical teenage problems. The rest suffered more from inner feelings and loneliness, and being less beautiful than their predecessors, looked like monsters and villains. It was this distinctive feature that played an important role in the world of the further development of the comic book industry.
Female characters "Marvel" and their on-screen embodiment
Superheroes have many representatives of the beautiful, but not inferior in terms of gender. All of them became bright prototypes, and appeared on comic pages at different times. Among them are the following: Storm, Electra, Spark, Woman Hulk, Gamora, Scarlet Witch, Butterfly, Clea, Red Sonja, Wasp, Medusa, Lady Mortal Strike. Of course, this is not a complete list.
The most famous female heroine is the Black Widow. She has excellent physical shape and skills in many areas: sambo, martial arts, ballet, espionage, firearms and cold steel. This character is most commonly seen in upcoming fantasy films, including the Iron Man and Avengers series. On the screen, Scarlett Johansson incarnates her.
The second, but relatively new female character was Wonder Woman. Interest in her has increased in connection with the release of the movie “Batman vs. Superman: At the Dawn of Justice”, in which she appears for the first time. At the moment, four films are planned with this heroine. In 2013-2014, Israeli actress Gal Gadot signed relevant contracts.
