Customs declaration and its execution

This article will consider such an important document as a customs declaration. Who should fill it out? How to do it right? We will talk about all this a little lower, but for now let's get acquainted with the basic requirements of the Russian federal customs (FCS of the Russian Federation) for tourists (individuals crossing the country's border).

What does the customs service do?

The service performs the following functions:

1. Monitors and oversees imported goods. For this, the customs declaration is filled out.
2. He is fighting smuggling.
3. Carries out currency control.

What can I import?

For free, that is, without paying taxes and duties (a customs declaration is also not needed), a person has the right to bring unaccompanied baggage into our country with goods whose total value is not more than 1.5 thousand euros and the total weight is up to 50 kilograms.

If these standards are exceeded, you will be required to complete a customs declaration and pay a fee. Its single rate is 30% of the value of the goods indicated in the document you filled out. The minimum cost per kilo is 4 euros.

Restrictions on the transport of alcoholic beverages are as follows: for one person over 18 years old - no more than three liters. If you carry more, then for each excess of three to five liters you will have to pay a fixed rate of 10 euros for each liter of excess.

If you have already reached the age of majority and want to bring tobacco products across the border for free, then take no more than 200 cigarettes and not more than fifty cigars. Restrictions apply to weight tobacco - not more than 250 grams.

If you are entering the territory of the customs union

In this case, customs payments are not paid for transportation:

• goods received as an inheritance for use by the individual himself, if he is a citizen of a state that is a member of the union (the fact of entering the inheritance will need to be documented);
• second-hand personal goods belonging to refugees, internally displaced persons and moving to the Union State for permanent residence.

Filling out a customs declaration

In this section, we will warn the reader in advance about what he needs to know when filling out this important document. So you save yourself from wasting time at customs.

1. The customs declaration is executed in duplicate.
2. The passenger fills everything.
3. Entries are made in English or Russian, pen and legibly.
4. If the customs officer gives permission, some information in the declaration can be changed. In this case, an individual’s signature and customs seal are placed near the correction.
5. If you crossed out the square of the answer, this equates to a positive answer, if left blank - to negative.
6. When indicating the direction of movement of goods, remember that during the transit of goods, it is necessary to cross out not only the corresponding field, but also the word "entry" or "exit".
7. If the goods are transported by a person under the age of majority, the customs declaration shall be filled in by the person accompanying him.
