Plot
Roman Kachanov and Ivan Okhlobystin, who are the creators of this film, based on the plot based on the description of the Russian army of the nineties through the eyes of soldiers. Prologue
The film begins with the acquaintance of the viewer with a guy nicknamed Bullet. On his behalf, a story is kept throughout the film. The bullet decides to become a soldier in order to escape from the creditors in the army.
The first part tells about what tricks young people are ready to get in, or vice versa, to “reject” from service. What causes them to volunteer. The reverse side of the numerous commissions that young people must go before the army is also shown. What are the “criteria” observed and how is the overall test for suitability for military service.
Here the main character meets two more guys - Vladik and Tolya Pestemeev. Vlad received a summons after he was expelled from the university. But Tolik accidentally burned the factory where he worked. With this triple, funny situations will occur. Most of the quotes from the movie "DMB" are associated with them.
Nameless part
Then the young men move to the assembly point, where they must be distributed in parts. It is here that a company of three peculiar guys is formed. Young guys do not know where they will be sent, the main thing is not to be in the battalion, as one of the characters claims, Gena (Bullet), who, according to him, cannot stand free physical labor.
This part tells how future soldiers spend the last hours before starting to live "according to the charter." They smoke, drink alcohol, play cards, sing, tell tales to each other. Ensigns come to the formed groups to take inductees to the unit. One of the officers became the main character in the next part.
Wild ensign
The most memorable fragments of the film “DMB” are quotes from ensign. The ensign peculiarly greets the guys: “Comrades conscripts, we must understand the whole depth of our depths. Our duty is to protect the homeland and observe the rules of personal hygiene. ” Ensign Kazakov is a collective image combining all Russian ensigns and their shortcomings. His phrase "this is not for you" is still used even by those who have not watched the film.
Acquaintance with ensign begins after a joint trip to a cafe, where the ensign prettyly used a strong drink. Alcohol hit Kazakov in the head so much that he lost consciousness. Periodically, ensign comes to his senses and tries to escape from draftees.
Next, the company moves to the ship. It is here that the main character comes up with the nicknames of the friendly three. Vlad gets the nickname Shtyk, for slimness, Tolya - the Bomb, for his hot temper, and Gene - the Bullet, because "on target." This is also a popular quote from the movie "DMB".
While the guys were resting, Kazakov once again came to his senses and nearly tore off the wedding of the new Russians, held on the same ship, by stealing the helm. For this behavior, he was given the nickname Wild Ensign.
Crack
In the military unit, the recruits were first trimmed, taken to a bathhouse, given out uniforms and put on sewn on gates, despite the fact that no one was familiar with this occupation.
Recruits have now become "spirits" - new arrivals. “Spirit” sooner or later becomes a demobilization, and all dreams are in front of the demobilization ”(another quote). With this setup, the guys begin to wait for demobilization from the first days of service. "Grandfathers" begin to "educate" young soldiers on weekdays, because of which guys often end up in the infirmary and other scrapes that make the audience laugh without stopping.
Samurai boar
During the service, the jolly three together with the capter are sent to the farm. They were given the honor of organizing an annual vacation of a fun company of military men led by a unit commander.
The bomb, always hungry, scours in his spare time in search of food, and the Bayonet finds a lesson for himself in the guise of the widow of Larisa. The bomb, not finding anything edible, they decide to satisfy their hunger with the brought boar, which was supposed to be a living target for the commander's entertainment. To remedy the situation, the Bomb replaces the boar as a target, but so that the army elite would not have guessed about it. When the top army officials arrive, Bullet entertains the commander with a game of Russian roulette, Bomb runs through the bushes imitating a boar, and Bayonet conquers the hearts of local widows.
Their adventures end with an oath and parting quote from the film “DMB” by Major General Talalayev: “You know what I can say, and I know that you can answer me. In short, serve. ”
Inspired by the surge in popularity of the first part, the film crew decided to shoot a sequel, which stretched for another 4 fragments. Quotes from the film “DMB-2” (“ Before demobilization, as before Antarctica,” “ Everything is transient in life. Only the army is constant”) , like the whole film, still attracted interest, but with each new part the rating of the film was falling. The reason was the replacement of the cast, the absence of the director and screenwriter of the first part of Roman Kachanov. In any case, quotes about "DMB" do not leave the lips of fans of this film.
