Is grace always a virtue?

This term means not only capable of attracting, attracting, captivating the beauty visible by the eye. A truly beautiful person does not necessarily have a body close to the canonical Apollo or Venus.

The triumph of external harmony, impossible without internal harmony - that is grace.

This is a quality that manifests itself as sophistication, grace and beauty. It is inherent in someone who (or what) is sophisticated, proportionate, not devoid of artistic taste.

What is grace

Why do we need a graceful wife?

They say that ancient treatises did not call the wife virtuous, if she was deprived of grace. And supposedly the Lord commanded the weaker sex the appropriate speech that she is obliged to give to the man along with fidelity and luck, memory and judgment, glory and patience.

Many believe that the feminine nature itself is grace. Its loss is fraught with vulgarity and rudeness of relations, degradation of partners.

The grace of speech is not only literacy, good diction and manners. It is difficult to achieve without:

  • sincerity;
  • ease;
  • friendliness;
  • hospitality;
  • compassion.

Music lovers know grace

Grace can (and ideally should) be done every thing, designed to decorate the surrounding reality. But this is the so-called applied side of things. And in this case we are talking about embellishment.

But for high arts, beauty is not an addition to utilitarianism (practical applicability), but an end in itself. Therefore, they are called “graceful”.

The only practical one is considered architecture. The architect in the vast majority of cases not only takes into account the beauty of buildings and structures, but also takes into account how they will be used.

Grace in architecture

The rest of the arts satisfy exclusively human needs for the beautiful. Refinement, grace with their help can be shown in such products:

  • paintings (painting);
  • statues (sculpture);
  • books (literature);
  • stage works (theater);
  • melodies (music);
  • choreographic staging (dance).

Any of these works becomes significant only when the author manages to realize a certain image with the help of:

  • paints;
  • the processed material;
  • words;
  • acting
  • sounds;
  • movements.

The terms of grace in these arts are as follows:

  1. Rhythm (measured repetition of sounds and colors, movements and forms).
  2. Proportion (commensurability of parts, “correct” embodiment).
  3. Harmony (when parts of different parts of the image correspond to one another).

Dubious dignity

Grace is not always a clear virtue. It happens that it is manifested in unkind deeds. You can achieve perfection without worrying about ethics. There are such expressions:

  • Gracefully lying.
  • Elegant fraud.
  • Gracefully change.
  • The grace of a sharpie.

But they still show a mockery. Whether to become her target, everyone decides for himself.
