Director Nikolai Serebryakov: biography and best works

Among the outstanding screenwriters and directors are a huge number of outstanding personalities. One of them is Nikolay Serebryakov. This man was also a great artist. His biography and work are strikingly different from all other representatives of the direction.

This man was born in a family of creative people, in 1928. The family’s hometown was Leningrad, where the boy lived most of his life. His father was Nikolai Evgenievich Serebryakov. He worked in the theater. Mother was an ordinary woman, doing homework. Nikolai Serebryakov inherited creativity from his parents. As a child, he showed his acting skills. At school, the boy participated in all theatrical productions.

The future director entered the Leningrad Institute at the faculty of acting . Nikolai Serebryakov was an outstanding student. He graduated with excellent marks. However, Nikolai did not stop there. Then he was educated as an artist. Thanks to this, some time later, Nikolai Serebryakov was able to do fine art.

In 1960, this man moved to Moscow. Future director Nikolai Serebryakov worked as artistic director. A year later, he was invited to the central television studio. He worked at Soyuzmultfilm, where he painted and directed unusual puppet cartoons.

The director constantly collaborated with famous people at that time. The most fruitful collaboration he got with the artist Speshnova.

Nikolai is gaining experience and learning from many mentors. Thanks to this, he begins to shoot full-fledged cartoons.

In 1992, he got a job at the New Year's Movies company. He helped this team create game animations.

As an excellent artist, he participated in the development of magazine graphics. Sometimes he was instructed to create the design of individual pages.

In 2001, Nikolai even starred in a feature film. He shared his knowledge at the film academy.

Nikolai Serebryakov died in 2005. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.

  • "Hat is not happiness." This work was created based on the fairy tale of Dries. The plot is built around the main character, who has a shy character, timidity and insecurity shine in his actions. He fell in love with a girl, but in order to achieve her heart, he has to overcome his character. The famous phrase came from this cartoon: "No need to be afraid, you only need to believe in your success."
  • "I want to be brave." Serebryakov used puppets in the creation of the cartoon. It was shot in 1963 by Soyuzmultfilm studio. The plot was based on the work of J. Wilkowski. The main character is a tiger that has lost its stripes. A neighbor told him that he would receive them with courage. Once his mother fell ill and the tiger cub went to distant lands for a doctor. Overcoming difficulties on the way, he returned his strips.
  • "Not to God, not to hell." This cartoon was created in 1965. As the characters used dolls. It is created in the canons of satire. The main characters are the carpenter Kuzma and the devil. The first went to heaven, according to the purpose of God. However, he was bored in it, because he was forbidden to build. You could only relax. As a result, Kuzma went to hell and began to ruin everything there. He was expelled from there to a burnt village. There he began to build houses. After a short time, he found a wife for himself.

Such cartoons were created by Nikolai. This is not the whole list of his creations. However, these are the most popular and famous works of Serebryakov. In them, he put a piece of himself. All screenwriters tried to convey as accurately as possible the plot from the original works on which cartoons were created. For this they were loved by viewers from the Soviet Union.
