In the Russian Federation, legislation gives a child the right to own a foreign passport for traveling to other countries of the world. Unfortunately, its design is a rather complicated and lengthy procedure. The first step is the preparation of documents. Today we will consider what documents are needed for a passport for a child. For children under 14 years old you will need:
- one copy of the application form of the established form, filled out by one of the parents and certified at the place of his work;

- birth certificate (it must have a note on the citizenship of the Russian Federation or an insert with this information);
- Russian passport of one of the parents (or the person replacing them);
- after payment of the state fee (about 1200 rubles) it is necessary to provide a receipt;
- if a travel document was issued earlier and it has not expired, it must be replaced with a new one.
Documents for a passport for a child 14-18 years old:
- one copy of the application form filled in by the parent of the established form;
- four photographs of the child and four - of the parent, of the required format and quality;
- birth certificate with a note on the citizenship of the Russian Federation or an insert with this information;
- Russian passport of the child;
- passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation of one of the parents (or the person replacing them);
- a certificate from the child’s place of study (optional, but desirable);
- after payment of the state fee (about 2500 rubles) it is necessary to provide a receipt;
- Valid travel document of the old model for replacement.
It is advisable to make photocopies of all documents in advance, as well as correctly execute them and notarize them. If the child will leave the country with his parents or a person replacing them with a different surname, then you need to make copies of documents confirming that you are relatives.
Documents for a passport for a child can be submitted without his presence if you plan to receive a paper version of the document. If the purpose of submitting documents is to obtain a biometric passport, then you must come with your child to take biometric indicators.
