Red spots on the glans or balanoposthitis

Balanoposthitis is a urological disease of the genitals, an inflammatory process of the glans penis and often the foreskin. Balanitis and fasting are two diseases that come along. Balanoposthitis occurs at any age, it is characterized by a clinic: red spots on the head, microcracks on the foreskin, purulent discharge, swelling, soreness, constant itching and slight burning.

Often, the infection rises higher to the urethra, as a result of which urethritis develops. There are cases when, as a result of the inflammatory process, phimosis (narrowing of the flesh) occurs. If you do not treat balanoposthitis for a long time, this will lead to a decrease in the sensitivity of the head of the penis, adversely affect potency and orgasm.

The main provocative link is stagnation in the preputial sac of decay products (residues of urine, seminal fluid, sweat, and death). Men with diabetes, sexually transmitted infections and those who do not follow the rules of intimate hygiene are more susceptible to this disease. Irritant balanoposthitis also develops against the background of frequent masturbation, abnormalities of the foreskin or constant dryness of the partner's vagina.

Red spots on the head begin to disturb the patient , pain when urinating, pain during intercourse, burning sensation. But many do not pay attention to these symptoms and drag out the process. Often various infections (viruses, yeast fungi, streptococci, Escherichia coli) join the disease. This must be considered during treatment.

Patients complain not only of red spots on the head of the penis, but also of general malaise, purulent discharge of gray color, pronounced swelling, pain in the genitals. In the groin, an increase in lymph nodes is noted. If the disease is not treated, its further progression begins, the patient has desquamation of the skin, erosion, the affected areas are covered with white coating. In severe cases, the genital organ is damaged, the disease goes into the ulcer stage.

Chronic balanoposthitis threatens with complications: keratinization of the foreskin and head tissues. In especially severe cases, inguinal nodes, lymphatic vessels become inflamed , as a result, gangrene of the genital organ is formed.

Diagnostics

It is not difficult to diagnose balanoposthitis due to the presence of a pronounced clinic: red spots on the head and flesh, burning in the affected areas and itching. To identify the cause of the disease, it is recommended to take the necessary tests: a smear from the foreskin and the urethra to the bacteriosis.

Treatment methods

In the absence of paraphimosis and phimosis, conservative treatment is prescribed. Indications for oral administration are indicated, which eliminate the foci of inflammation, suppress the vital activity of pathogens and have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the genitourinary system.

If red spots on the penis itch and do not pass, local procedures are prescribed - baths. They can be carried out at home, the main thing is to take it several times a day. At the same time, the head of the penis must be exposed from the flesh, then gently drain with sterile gauze and treat the affected areas with an antiseptic.

If a pronounced phimosis of the foreskin is detected, then it is surgically circumcised.

Prevention

First of all, it is necessary to carefully monitor intimate hygiene, wash the skin folds and the head well, and wash the penis with soapy water after each act. It is important to remember that timely treatment will protect you from the development of phimosis, urethritis and diabetes. If you notice red spots on your head, do not wait for them to disappear, do not prolong the disease, even if it turns out to be a common allergy - go to the doctor and check.
