The Vepr-12 Hammer self-loading rifle is a multi-purpose carbine of domestic production. It is popular not only in our country, but also abroad. "Boar" - a gun that is actively used not only by lovers of commercial or amateur hunting, but also in shooting ranges to improve practical shooting skills. Often, it is with these weapons that athletes participate in competitions.
Characteristics
"Boar" - a gun created on the basis of a Kalashnikov light machine gun. It is a relatively new development of the Molot plant of the same name, located in Vyatskiye Polyany. When creating these weapons, manufacturers positioned them as a direct competitor to the hunting carbines from the Saiga series, which are very popular in our country.
The main purpose of "Boar" is a sport, or rather, practical shooting, but it has become popular in the relevant structures involved in the protection of houses and other security activities.
Features
The Boar is a shotgun, the creation of which with great attention took into account the wishes of many experienced shooters-athletes. Its design introduced some additional elements that made handling this carbine as convenient as possible. This is a double-sided fuse with a slide delay, a magazine shaft, etc. In recent years, the manufacturer of the Vepr-12 series rifles has been manufactured simultaneously in three versions. Their difference lies in the length of the barrel. In the basic version, it is the shortest, while in subsequent models it is longer.

These multi-purpose smoothbore self-loading carbines are designed for both hunting and sporting events. The Vepr is a shotgun, the photo of which is often confused with other self-loading counterparts of the Tiger type, and is produced mainly under cartridges with a caliber of 12x76. It has a fairly high degree of reliability and reliability when working in various, even extreme operating conditions. However, this self-loading carbine is distinguished from similar versions by the presence of a removable flame arrester, which is installed on the muzzle, as well as by the presence of a locking mechanism. This is an innovation that completely eliminates the possibility of firing with a folded butt.
Design
The Vepr is a shotgun in which automatic reloading takes place, like in the Saig or Tiger, by using powder gas energy removed from the barrel channel to the gas chamber, and also thanks to return springs. Locking the channel in the barrel rotates the shutter around its own axis to two combat stops during the longitudinal movement of the shutter frame.
Work mechanism
Using the trigger mechanism made according to the trigger type, the Vepr carbines provide for the production of single shots and their firing. Moreover, this part of the flag type is made bilateral with two levers located on the right side of the receiver, and one is already on the left. To facilitate and speed up the process of attaching the cartridge magazine to the carbine itself, a receiver is provided on it. To combat corrosion and increase durability, the channel with the barrel chamber, as well as the stem of the shutter frame with a gas chamber, are chrome-plated.
At the same time, the open devices that Vepr is equipped with consist of a reticle for the side corrections, as well as a two-way adjustable front sight, which is installed in the base. The Vepr shotgun, reviews of which are the key to its popularity, has a lower part of the gas chamber, made in the form of a Weaver bar, designed for installation of a
laser target or
tactical flashlight if necessary
.Innovations
The manufacturer has redesigned the bolt group and receiver of this carbine, taking into account the use of hunting cartridges in it. At the same time, the self-timer was removed from the trigger mechanism, and the gas bleeder mechanism became self-regulating and allows you to shoot both with cartridges with a sleeve of 70 mm, and with 76 mm without additional adjustments. "Vepr" is a shotgun, the sights of which, like a Kalashnikov assault rifle, are made entirely adjustable and with a front sight mounted above the gas chamber. The lid on the receiver does not come off, but simply leans up and forward, again by analogy with the AKC. In addition, it additionally has a Picatinny rail-type rail for quick and convenient installation of a wide variety of additional sights, mounted on the respective brackets.

The gun is powered by single-row plastic magazines with a capacity of eight charges. The stock of the Vepr shotgun is metal, made according to the skeletal structure with folding to the side. Its butt outside is coated with plastic to increase the comfort of shooting in frosty or hot weather. For the basic version, which has a shortened barrel and is produced mainly for the Russian market, in accordance with the โLaw on Weaponsโ of the Russian Federation, a special safety mechanism has been introduced, which, as has already been said, blocks shooting with the stock folded.
