Plot
Events take place in Alaska. Oscar Manheim is the protagonist of the movie Runaway Train. The actor who played this role, an Oscar winner, became famous for his roles in the films Midnight Cowboy, Mission Impossible. Oscar has the nickname Manny, he is serving another prison term. He is a professional robber, twice escaped. The head of the prison is Manny's main enemy. After the next conflict, events take place, on which the plot of the runaway train movie is based.
The actor, known more as the elder brother of the famous Hollywood movie star, played the role of a young prisoner in Konchalovsky’s picture, serving time for seducing a minor girl. This character's name is Buck. One fine day, two prisoners leave the walls of the prison, dressing themselves in overalls for railway workers. After a series of events, they find themselves on a train racing at breakneck speed. Brakes fail, an uncontrolled locomotive helps the heroes escape, which, however, they are no longer happy.
