Medication "Pariet", reviews of which are mostly positive, is a tool that lowers secretion in the glands of the stomach. It is prescribed for peptic ulcer disease, which is in the acute stage, gastroesophageal reflux disease (peptic ulcer, non-erosive and erosive), gastrinoma and other conditions characterized by pathological hypersecretion.
Release form, composition
The production of drugs is carried out in the form of tablets (rounded biconvex), coated. One tablet includes the active ingredient - rabeprazole sodium - in an amount of 10 or 20 mg, in terms of 9.42 or 18.85 mg of beprazole, respectively. Tablets containing 10 mg of the active substance are pink and light yellow with 20 mg. On the cross section, the color is white or almost white, on one side there is a marking with black paint.
Method of use, dosage
Patient reviews report that treatment with Pariet yields favorable results. The tablets cannot be crushed or chewed; they should only be swallowed whole. Neither food intake nor the time of day affect the activity of the drug. With a stomach ulcer during an exacerbation per day, it is recommended to take once 10 or 20 mg. The course of treatment is usually six weeks, in some cases it can be doubled. In case of duodenal ulcer, 20 mg of Pariet is prescribed once a day (during the period of exacerbation). Reviews of individual patients indicate that the therapeutic effect was already apparent when they took 10 mg per day. Treatment takes two to four weeks, if necessary, can be extended for another four weeks. For the treatment of GERD, a single dose of 10 or 20 mg is recommended per day. In this case, the duration of the course is four to eight weeks with the possibility of extension for another eight weeks. It is permissible for children to prescribe the drug from the age of twelve.
