The central stadium of the trade unions (Voronezh) of Prosyany was named after the Hero of the Soviet Union. Ivan Evgenievich was the first chairman of the Harvest sports club. Since then, the stadium has become the main sports ground of the city. The construction is located next to a historically established place. It was from there that football began in Voronezh. On the main sports ground, the film "Men's Women's Game" was shot. The stadium is in Russia in second place in capacity.
Stadium History
The central stadium of the trade unions (Voronezh) is located next to the site of the former cadet corps. In it, in physical education lessons, students often played football, practicing playing skills. In 1917, the Executive Committee of Workers and Deputies issued a decree on providing a platform for the cadet corps for youth sports.
Then the first football field appeared. It was drawn by a line in the middle, had penalty areas and real gates, but without nets. The first football field was a serious impetus to the development of this sport in Voronezh. At first, money for watching amateur matches at a makeshift stadium was not taken. The first tickets appeared a little later (in 1924) and cost only 10 kopecks.
By this time, the trade union stadium (Voronezh) already had three football fields that framed benches in two rows. In 1927, the construction of a new sports complex began on Sennaya Square. But the construction of the arena was somewhat delayed. The first mention of the stadium dates back to the late 1920s. At that time, the new sports ground was called "OSPS", after the name of the owner - the Regional Council of Trade Unions.
By 1930, only one football field was created at the stadium. In 1934, the rest of the infrastructure and stands were put into operation. By the end of the year, an international match was held for the first time at the new stadium. The participants were the team of the Central Black Earth Region and the German football players. The game ended in a draw.
In 1935, the trade union stadium (Voronezh) hosted the first football championship in the region. In 1936, the sports ground was renamed "Pischevik", and in 1953 - in the "Banner". In the winter of 1958 it began to be called "Labor." And only in 1973 the sports complex was named the Central stadium of the trade unions. Since then, this name has not changed.
During the Great Patriotic War, the stadium of the trade unions (Voronezh) was completely destroyed. And after the war he had to be restored for a long time. The first overhaul was completed before the matches of the 1954 season. Then the local football team โWings of the Sovietsโ received a new arena. The stands were designed for 10 thousand fans.
In the period from 1962-1965. The capacity of the stadium was increased to 32,000 people. But the main reconstruction began in 1984. Fountains with water, bushes along the racetracks were removed and many more changes were made. The arena began to consist of two tiers, and the capacity of the stadium increased to 34,800 fans.
