Designer Margolin developed a pistol, which received his name, shortly after the end of World War II, in 1948. Interestingly, the first prototype of this weapon was introduced back in 1941, but then mass production could not be established - the war prevented it.
The man who developed Margolin's gun, which is interesting, was blind from a bullet wound to the head at the age of 18, which did not prevent him from becoming a weapon designer. Mikhail Vladimirovich Margolin had to work behind the machines to the touch, to build the drawings by touch. History knows many examples when people with disabilities did not lose their craving for work and creation.
Margolin pistol is primarily a sporting weapon, that is, it is not intended for military operations. Structurally, this gun is quite simple. Weapon automation is based on the recoil of the shutter. The trigger part of the trigger type, the trigger is open. The trigger mechanism is directly responsible for the freedom of movement of the trigger. A return spring equipped with a stem is located under the barrel.
Margolin pistol has a 5/10-charge magazine. Used cartridges of standard caliber 5.6 mm. The sight of the pistol is micrometric, which allows to guarantee high accuracy of shooting even when moving or other conditions that make it difficult for a bullet to hit the target.
It was Margolin's pistol, taken into service by the USSR Riflemen’s Association, that helped athletes take first place in 1954 international competitions.
The gun has a mass of 900 grams without cartridges and 940 grams with cartridges. This is quite a bit, considering the year of its creation, the return and reliability of the shooting.
But not only sporting weapons managed to visit Margolin's pistol. For a long time, these trunks have been presented as awards to distinguished police officers and police. In Ukraine, for example, a separate law is in effect, according to which it is prescribed to award employees of state security bodies with Margolin pistols.
In the 1990s, several modern barrel modifications were developed, but they were not so successful and did not receive approval among athletes who continued to train with weapons of the 1948 model.
You can buy a Margolin pistol both on specialized sites where these weapons are constantly available, and on hand, since these former pistols remained with many former police officers - they will not demand premium weapons back when they retire.
