Everyone knows that the tale of Kolobok has an interesting semantic meaning, if viewed from the position of the wisdom of Slavic ancestors. At different time periods, prominent domestic animators presented the public with author's interpretations. The modern cartoon "Kolobok" (2012) was no exception.
Classic designs
The very first film adaptation of a fairy tale story beloved from early childhood is a hand-drawn cartoon, released in 1936. Unfortunately, the eight-minute masterpiece survived without the original soundtrack. The creative director’s duet of Soyuzmultfilm studio, composed of Leonid Amalrik and Vladimir Suteev, worked on the creation of the animated film. Musical accompaniment was composed by composer Alexei Sokolov-Kamin.
Exactly twenty years later, again at the same studio, the famous animated film director Roman Davydov shot a short-length puppet cartoon "Kolobok". The 1956 project was distinguished from its contemporaries by the use of “volume shifting”.
Cartoon series
The more modern "Kolobok" is part of the animated series, created based on the tales of the peoples of Russia. "The Mountain of Gems" consists of 75 episodes of 13 minutes each. Each series is created in different animation genres. Work on the project began in 2004 and continues to this day. The production of cartoons is carried out by the Pilot studio.
In 2012, along with the other five animated films directed by Eduard Nazarov and Marina Karpova, Kolobok was released, which is claimed to be a Simbirsk fairy tale. Reviews about the cartoon are extremely positive, many reviewers characterize it as a clear instruction for raising naughty kids. The fact is that, while preserving the general idea of a famous fairy tale, the authors presented their variation of the finale, which managed to surprise the public.
"Gingerbread Man and Spartacus"
In December 2018, the media leaked information about the start of work on an animated film about the Spartak football club. The film producer Yusup Bakhshiev, who had a hand in creating the art films “Paragraph 78” and “Antikiller”, assured the public that the modern “Kolobok” will be 1 hour 30 minutes of animation with your favorite heroes and interesting football history. The cartoon will be part of the project "The Best People of the Country", the working title of the film is "Gingerbread Man and Spartak." It remains to wait, because it is definitely better to see once than to hear a hundred times.
