Bogdanovich immediately realized that this is exactly what his heroine, Jaycee Farrow, should be - a school beauty, with whom all the boys in the class are in love. The girl was invited to the tests, which she easily passed. So Sybill became an actress. The debut was a success. The young actress was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in the Best Debut category.

The creator of Moonlight is Glenn Gordon Caron. There are only four key characters in the TV show. Sybill played the role of Madeline Hayes, the mistress of a detective agency. Bruce Willis played the role of David Addison, a private detective. Alice Beasley and Curtis Armstrong played the roles of Secretary Agnes and her lover Herbert.
In the story, the manager of the Blue Moon agency tricked Madison and fled with her money to South America. In order to somehow make ends meet, the girl is going to close all unprofitable firms operated by the agency. Detective David Addison persuades Hayes to do the detective business herself. So the former top model and detective become partners.
The television series really liked not only the viewers who were looking forward to each new series, but also film critics.

Personal life
On the set of the movie “The Last Picture Show”, Sybill Shepard started an affair with the director of the film, Peter Bogdanovich. Relations between them were interrupted, then began again over the next eight years.
In November 1978, the actress married David Ford. Soon the couple had a daughter. The girl was named Clementine. The marriage of Sybill and David broke up two years later. Clementine later also became an actress.
In 1985, on the set of The Moonlight Detective Agency, Shepard met chiropractor Bruce Oppenheim. Soon, Bruce and Sybill officially formalized their relationship. Sybil gave birth to twins Bruce, son Zachariah and daughter Ariel. Shepard divorced Oppenheim in 1990.
