How to make an injection, and what is needed for this.

With the help of injections, the drug quickly enters the bloodstream and after a few minutes gives results. With toothache, quick relief brings an injection into the gums. Sometimes the patient requires intravenous injection. These technically more sophisticated methods are best entrusted to specialists, but we’ll talk in more detail about how to make an injection into a muscle or intramuscularly.

Some people are sick with chronic diseases, which from time to time may worsen. They require constant injections. There isn’t always enough time for trips to the polyclinic, and the nurse’s visits to the house result in a tidy sum. Knowing how to give yourself an injection is necessary in order to avoid an emergency. Almost every person in life had moments when it was required to deliver an intramuscular injection to loved ones or to himself. The procedure will seem quite simple if you learn to perform it correctly, and most importantly do not be afraid.

How to make an injection correctly? To begin with, we will determine the place of the injection and the position of the body itself. There is an opinion that an injection can be done in absolutely any muscle, for example, on a leg or arm. To reduce the likelihood of negative consequences, experts advise an injection in the gluteal region. The hands do not always have the necessary amount of muscle mass, and after an injection in the leg it can "pull" for a long time. Before starting the procedure itself, you can practice at the mirror to understand how to make an injection more convenient. When standing or lying down, it is important that the position of the body is clearly fixed.

For the procedure itself, you will need pieces of cotton wool soaked in medical alcohol, a disposable syringe and a drug intended for administration. When buying a syringe, pay special attention to the length of the needle. A short needle may not reach the muscle, and a medicine injected under the skin will cause inflammation. Choose syringes designed specifically for intramuscular injection.

Before you give yourself an injection, you must thoroughly wash your hands with soap, and the ampoule with the drug should be wiped with alcohol and shaken well. Gently file the tip of the ampoule and fill the syringe. Please note that in addition to the drug, air bubbles have also entered. They must be deleted. To do this, point the syringe up and make a few clicks on it. The bubbles will collect at the top into one large bubble, which can be removed with a slight pressure on the piston. If a drop of medicine appears on the tip of the needle, then there is no more air in the syringe.

We proceed directly to the procedure. Accept the pre-selected position and with a sharp movement enter the needle. We hold the syringe like a pen, it is advisable to immerse the needle three quarters of its length. If it went deeper, it’s not scary, the main thing is to eliminate fear and completely relax. Take a deep breath and, by pressing on the plunger, proceed to the smooth administration of the medicine. Slow entry will help eliminate the likelihood of cones. At the end of the procedure, take a pre-prepared fleece in your left hand and sharply remove the needle with your right hand. Press the fleece to the puncture site and massage it well.

Having figured out how to make an injection, one should not forget about some safety rules. Do not make multiple injections in one buttock. Five-cube syringes have a thicker needle, so if there is little medicine, it is better to opt for a two-cube syringe. Never reuse used syringes, but discard immediately. Draw an imaginary cross on your buttock to choose an optimal safe injection site. The upper outer corner would be ideal. The main thing here is not to be afraid, all movements should be sharp and confident, so you inflict a minimum of pain on yourself or a loved one.
