Biography
Pavel Safonov was born on June 26, 1972. In 1994 he graduated from the Shchukin Theater School (workshop of Vladimir Ivanov). Already during their studies, teachers noticed the young man's undoubted talent and predicted a successful future for him in the profession.
Immediately after studying, Pavel was accepted into the troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater. The cinema experienced its not the best of times in the 1990s - low-grade mediocre films came out, in which the actor preferred a theatrical scene.
Career
Pavel Safonov is known more as a theater actor and director. He has been involved in many plays:
- Cyrano de Bergerac;
- "Story";
- "Examiner";
- “Lion in winter”;
- The Queen of Spades;
- "Princess Turandot."
As a director, Pavel tried his hand after 3 years of a successful acting career. He staged his first performance, “Fine People,” in his native school named after Shchukin. After a successful debut, Pavel began to receive offers from many famous theaters - Rusich, Theatrical Partnership 814, Meyerhold’s House, and Theater Marathon.
As a director, he staged over a dozen successful performances. Among them are “The Seagull”, “The Deep Blue Sea”, “The Ideal Husband”, “Caligula”, “Pygmalion” and others.
Critics praise his acting and directorial work. Several times he was recognized as one of the best actors in his native theater.
But Pavel Safonov has a few movie roles. He starred in only three films:
- “Eagle and Tails” (1995, the role of policeman Valentine);
- “Flowers from the Winners” (1998);
- the series "Men's Work-2" (2002, the role of Wahi).
Pavel tried himself in the role of a film director: in 2007 he shot the series "Agency Alibi", in 2008 - "Petrovka 38. The team of Semenov."
Family life
Pavel Safonov met his future wife Olga Lomonosova at the rehearsal of “Princess Turandot”: she played in the crowd, he is one of the roles. At that time, both were not free, so the mutual feeling did not come immediately.
When Pavel directed his first performance, Beautiful People, as a director, he invited Olga Lomonosov to the main role. However, despite the talent and spectacular appearance of the actress, he had doubts, because the role was complex and dramatic.
But as a result, Olga pleasantly surprised him. While working on the play, the young people became close, but the real romance between them began a few years later.
Today, Olga and Pavel live in a civil marriage, raise two daughters (Varia, b. 2006 and Sasha, b. 2011) and son Fedor (b. 2017).
