In the center of the picture is young Adele. A completely ordinary 17-year-old French girl who is in high school and every morning hardly wakes up to go to class. She doesn’t paint at all, and on her head is always a funny and careless bunch. It is this naturalness that fascinates Tom, a guy from a different class. They go for a walk, watch a movie in the cinema and learn the charm of the first kiss.
But from the memory of Adele the image of a girl with blue hair, accidentally met on the street, does not disappear. She feels that despair grips her. Relations with Tom do not cause vivid emotions, seem faded and ridiculous. As a result, the girl decides to part with the guy and goes to a nightclub to distract. This evening again presents a meeting with an unusual stranger who fascinated her. They are irresistibly drawn to each other, and young Adele plunges into a dizzying lesbian romance. But can these relationships last long? The director of the film, Abdelatif Keshish, managed to ensure that the actors and roles coincided one hundred percent in the provocative drama Life Adele.
Adele Exarcopoulos as the main character
The young but already very successful French actress Adele Exarcopoulos played her namesake. The image of the screen Adele turned out to be charming, very organic and natural. She sincerely, without a trace, loves, feels, lives. No wonder offers and awards fell on Exarcopoulos after this role, as if from a cornucopia. She became the youngest owner of the Golden Palm Branch in the history of the Cannes Film Festival, and the jury of the Cesar film award dubbed her the most promising actress. Adele fearlessly takes on films with a complex plot and an abundance of intimate scenes. For example, one of her last works was the movie “Fatal Attraction” of 2016, where she, together with Guillaume Gallien, depicted the story of the forbidden love of a prisoner and the head of the prison.

The actress was no less organic, embodying a slightly rude, but attractive image of a young woman with a masculine origin. Along with Exarcopoulos, it was marked with the Golden Palm Branch in 2013. Agreeing to roles in the film "Adele's Life", the actors already knew that pretty much attention would be paid to bed scenes. The complexity was increased by the fact that the two main actresses had to portray same-sex relationships with all the passion and emancipation. Lea and Adele later shared that the director was very pedantic and delayed filming intimate moments for several hours. Seydoux and Exarcopoulos were barely familiar, and Keshish decided to start precisely with erotic scenes. The girls were embarrassed at first, but the general awkwardness brought them closer. Representing each other naked for the sake of more and more duplicates, they soon began to joke and felt relaxed. For close-ups, a special makeup was used: for intimate places, special realistic overlays were used.
Not only the frank episodes were noted as the most time-consuming actors in the film "Adele's Life". And how they shot scenes of quarrels between lovers Lea and Adele, they also told. The director was meticulous and insisted on a real emotional tension. Seydoux and Exarkopoulos were beaten each other several dozen times to show scandal and a split in the relations of the heroines. After the premiere of "Life Adele" actors, in particular Adele and Leah, announced that they would no longer agree to work with Kesish, because it is difficult to endure his tyranny and exactingness.

Incredibly, in total, the picture received 40 awards and nominations. Naturally, at the head of the list is the triumph at the Cannes Film Festival. Also in the piggy bank of victories is the British Independent Film Award, nomination for BAFTA and Golden Globe. The second title of the drama is "Blue is the warmest color." This is a reference to the comic strip Julie Marot, taken as the basis of the plot. The film confirms this name. It turned out bright, full of energy and shades of human feelings.
