Alcohol tincture has antiseptic (antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal), wound healing, analgesic, antipruritic, deodorizing, antitoxic and antioxidant effects, relieves vascular spasms, reduces blood coagulability, stimulates the body’s protective reactions and tissue tissue regeneration (regeneration), stimulates metabolic processes. All these properties in the complex contribute to faster healing of the affected areas.

Most often, propolis is used as a 20 percent tincture in 70 or 96 degree alcohol. How to make propolis tincture, we will now tell you: 20 g of purified propolis is crushed, placed in a dark glass dish, filled with 80 ml of alcohol, then tightly closed and mixed thoroughly for half an hour. Insist from a week to 10 days (it depends on the specific disease), while shaking daily. Then the tincture is placed in a cool place (refrigerator) for a couple of days for settling (it is impossible to shake), then it needs to be filtered through a thin layer of cotton wool, which is put into the funnel. It turns out a yellowish-brown liquid, which can be stored from one month to a year, the shelf life depends on the time of infusion, concentration and other factors. Tinctures and other concentrations are used for some diseases. Note that the substance remaining on the cotton wool after filtering cannot be used; it must be discarded.
