The profession that Kickinger received was unlikely to bring him satisfaction, because after graduating from college he often changed jobs and seemed to continue to look for himself.
At 19, Roland got his first job. On a cruise ship, he worked as an assistant to the waiter. In order to make a career on the liner, English was required, and he was limping with a young man.
