One of the diseases that older people often experience is arthrosis. Symptoms of this disease may appear much earlier. Usually, joint pain first occurs during exercise and even when walking. Most people do not pay much attention to this and do not attach any importance to pain when self-medicating. The doctor is consulted much later when the disease is already running. It can be treated with a surgical or therapeutic method. Surgery is used after therapeutic treatment for arthrosis of the knee and hip joints with their complete destruction.
Chondroprotectors occupy a special place in the fight against the disease. With arthrosis, these are indispensable drugs that slow down the development of the disease and restore cartilage. After their use, there is an improvement in the production of joint fluid, the normalization of “lubricating” properties, and restoration of the cartilage surfaces of the joint. It is advisable to use them when the first signs of the disease occur.
They are produced in the form of capsules, tablets and powders (chondroprotectors "Don", "Teraflex", "Arthra"). They can also be administered with intraarticular (Ostenil, Fermaton) or intramuscular (Mukosat, Don) injections.
Chondroprotectors for arthrosis should be taken only after consulting a doctor, since the indications for their use are different, and they must be assigned to each individually. It is necessary to fully undergo a course of treatment, the duration of which should not be less than 3 months, and periodically undergo them again.
For the treatment of arthrosis, drugs such as:
- "Arteparon." The composition of this drug is similar to the composition of the cartilage itself. It prevents the destruction of the joint, inhibits the development of the disease. It is used intramuscularly, initially twice a week for two months, and subsequently once every two weeks for four months. The main thing is to fully maintain the course, then there will be a result.
- “Mukartin” - sulfate ester of mucopolysaccharide. The dosage of the drug is 2 ml. The principle of operation and application pattern is similar to "Arteparon";
“Rumalon.” The drug contains biologically active substances, namely amino acids, petids, nucleotides, chondrocytes, proteoglycans, as well as bone marrow cells. Using such chondroprotectors for arthrosis, you can improve: the production of glucose aminoglycans in a diseased joint, the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, and lubrication of a diseased joint. In this case, the composition of the synovial fluid becomes favorable. The drug is administered intramuscularly in a day. In total, 25 injections of 0.1 ml should be made. The device is used only in the first stages of arthrosis;
“Arthron.” The properties and principle of action, as well as the dosage and course of treatment of the drug are similar to Rumalon.
The group of chondroprotectors includes glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate. The first stimulates the production of the necessary cartilage elements, and also protects it from destruction, helps restore joint tissues. The second neutralizes the destructive effect of enzymes on cartilage, accelerates the formation of collagen protein.
Chondroprotectors for coxarthrosis (arthrosis of the hip joints) not only eliminate the symptoms, but also affect the very "basis" of the disease. Nevertheless, they are practically useless with stage 3 coxarthrosis, with an almost completely destroyed joint. Restore already destroyed tissue simply will not succeed.
Chondroprotectors for arthrosis act very slowly, and to get the desired effect, you should completely complete the course at least three times (that is, within six months, maybe a year), but they will bring many benefits. Chondroprotectors for arthrosis have almost no contraindications and they have few side effects.
