Dewey Finn is a crazy guy who devotes most of his time to music. His vocation is rock, and his dream is to play on a big stage in front of thousands of fans. He even put together a team and bought the necessary equipment. But in order to become popular and recognizable, you must first win the annual rock band tournament. The only problem is that his own group refuses to cooperate with Dewey.
But the troubles do not end there. The guy runs the risk of losing his roof over his head soon if he does not find what to pay for the room. Therefore, he decides on a desperate act. When his flatmate is invited to replace a sick teacher at a local school, Dewey goes to work instead. Of course, he is unlikely to give the fifth graders the necessary knowledge guaranteed by the school curriculum. But perhaps the Horace Green Elementary School is his last chance to fulfill the dream of a lifetime.
School of Rock: actors and characters
“Green elementary school” is noteworthy in that, in addition to the general norms adopted in all educational institutions, there are their own individual rules and orders. In such a school, only teachers with the best recommendations teach. Dewey Finnu, whose role was played in the film ("School of Rock") by Jack Black, is definitely not the place. But he is there, for which thanks to the principal.
Rosalyn Mullins (Joan Cusack) is a responsible and serious woman. It was not in vain to manage the school. The traditions of this place are the most important thing for her, she will not allow anyone to violate them, because it is for this feature that parents pay a lot of money. Of course, she is also a man, and after a couple of glasses of beer, Miss Mullins allows herself to relax. But the rest of the days she herself is austerity and attentiveness. It is not clear why, after conducting an interview, she did not recognize such a boob as Dewey Finn.
But what about Ned Schnibley, played by Mike White? To be honest, it’s his own fault that he lost his part-time job. He saw that the comrade was trying, really could not wait with debt. After all, before the guys were doing music together. And now he demands money, as if they are strangers.
Although it can be understood, the guy really values his relationship with his girlfriend Patty De Marco (Sarah Silverman). But they will not be happy until Dewey begins to pay with them for housing. Ned does not like to constantly remind about money, but Patty puts too much pressure on him. I wonder if they have such love for a long time?
The film "School of Rock": actors of the children's ensemble
To get to the prestigious Horace Green Elementary School, you need to fulfill only one condition - pay regularly for tuition. So the children attend her are completely different, and their basic knowledge of admission does not affect. Here, as in a regular school, some students openly protest against learning, while others simply love to study, while others only pretend that they are happy with everything, but secretly from their parents devote all their time to their favorite business. But there is something that unites them - they are all creative personalities. Literally on the second day, Dewey Finn found out about this.
It was in these children that he saw the fulfillment of his cherished dream. In the music class, the guy noticed an excellent keyboard player Lawrence (Robert Tsai), promising guitarist Zach (Jay Geidos), bass player Katie (Rebecca Brown), drummer Freddy (Kevin Alexander Clark) and three vocalists: Tomik, Martha and Alicia (Mariam Hassan, Caitlin Hale and Aleisha Allen). And even if before that they performed classical musical compositions, nothing prevents them from becoming a rock band. By the way, Dewey Finn's organizational skills should also be envied, because he was able to find a lesson for all fifth graders.
Two sides
On the one hand, the film "School of Rock" is not only a long and difficult path to the cherished dream of a loyal fan of rock. This is the story of how, as a mentor, he was able to positively influence his wards. He helped them overcome doubts and make their choice, despite the categorical prohibition of parents.
On the other hand, it looks as if he uses the talent of his students to achieve his goals. But who knows, maybe it is. Maybe their desires are completely indifferent to him. And if all that he promises them is not true? After all, once Dewey Finn had already deceived them. You can find out about this only by watching the film "School of Rock" to the end.

Jack Black got the main role in the film not only for his acting data. In real life, he also makes music, plays in the rock band Tenacious D. So he probably had more than just to get used to the role.
The musical performance created by director Richard Linklater received rather high ratings among world film critics. It even got into the hundred most ridiculous films according to the Bravo channel.
